Hey, few days ago I bought a really good domain on name dot com, I checked it today on whois to see stuff about my info and I saw name dot com is selling that domain as premium for 2,300$ , what happens to me if someone buys that domain now? Do I get some money or I just get fked? And can I somehow stop that premium sale, because I'm not planning on using that domain soon

Your thread makes no sense OP! If you buy it, it's yours to use it the way you want. Are you sure that you bought it and no problem of the last minute happened? (like chargeback etc)
Why don't you just contact them about your issue?

I agree. This seems a bit odd. I think that OP owns the .net/.org/other tld and wonder if he will get anything for selling his domain. Because Name.com cannot just take the domain from OP and sell it on their marketplace, that would just be weird.

I bought the domain just as it expired from the last owner, I checked whois today and all of my info is there, domain is on my name.com account ( I don't have hosting there though), domain is not hosted yet. But when I search it on name.com it says: Premium domain - this domain is already registered but it's available for immediate purchase. I don't really think anyone will buy it anytime soon for 2,300$ , but I'll check it with their support

Make sure you renew the domain
    before expiry date
Then you have nothing to worry about

This happened to me as well on one of my domains. I once checked whos.domaintools and there was an advertisement that my domain was for sale. I don't know if this is a coincidence but my registrar happens to be name com as well

Godaddy loves to do the same thing. They allow users to send you an offer BUT you are still the owner of the domain name. The company gets some comission and you some money in case you accept the offer.

    Hey op.
I have most of my domains with name.com as well.
    Never any issue.

There is a possible scenario that the domain was being sold as premium and still has the old DNS Nameservers.Check & change nameservers.

Can you see the domain on your account ?

So I guess we solved it, If someone makes offer for that amount of money I can sell it I guess, everything is written in name.com work policy or whatever it is :p

I already knew name.com is kinda stupid, but that domain was a great deal so...

Thank you for your help guys :)

yeah if it's an ad thing, they just want to drive traffic to their site and getting people to click on that domain. when they try to purchase you'll be notified and you can then agree or not to sell :)

No one can, not even the registrar can sell the domain which is owned by you. I guess there might be slight change in the spelling or it might be some change in .org.com.in something like that. Its better you can contact your registrar to get a well defined solution for this.

It's just the registrar trying to squeeze more money. They offer a "premium" price for the domain, if someone takes the bait, they forward the offer to you, and if you give, the transaction goes through and the registrar takes their cut of the money. No need to worry OP.

Its like this for a couple of my domains too. I think they just assume youll sell it for that price if they give you the offer of the person who wants to buy it, and name takes a little part of the money
