I received a cold call today from my cc company, from a really aggressive lady that wanted me to sign up for a credit report, lol. I started to have some fun with her and asked her if she was getting paid $20-30/ referral and she just ignored my questions and kept babbling on how important it was for me to have my report. "You could have online access to your report and you will only be charged a one-time fee" Yeah right bullshit,i checked the site and read the fine print that showed monthly recurring charges and the bitch did not mention this to me.

Its bad enough that these major CC companys are raping the consumers with high interest fees, service charge fees, late fees, and scratching my head fees and now they are resorting to selling credit reports to make their asses even fatter.

If all major companies are using telephone solicitation to sell reports,i think it will have a huge impact with online sales, since it will eventually lead to a majority of people ownig a copy of their report.

some years ago a cc company (that i was previously unaware of) called and asked if i wanted a gold credit card with a $100,000. limit.

i asked her what would i need that much for, and she said "you could keep it for emergencies".

they just love it when you go into massive debt... :D

With the new credit card laws they're trying to make more money any way they can. I probably would do it too.

The sadly part of it is that people will do comply with the request.

At least we learn that just taking action and being persistent brings money to the table, even thought cold calling is outdated in a permission marketing era.
