Yeah i found a great niche but there is a competitor his content is really great and he has a great module on how the website looks. Very simple and effective. He has only done on page seo so if i hire a writer to rewrite all his content and copy is website layout a little bit and then get some seo work(sherlock hacks) done on my website should i be able to outrank him?

What is his PA/DA? How old is the domain? He has no backlinks built, or just a very small amount? Have you checked the quality of his backlinks? You should be doing what your post says any way. Constant content is a game changer.

Yeah don't underestimate domain age for authority, but if he has no backlinks at all you should be able to outrank him with not so much effort I guess.

His domain authority is 26 and page authority is 40 and he has 1300 backlinks but those backlinks are not related to any of his keywords. Those backlinks are defiantly before he had the domain. Hes even said himself "he has done no backlink building or seo whatsoever just great content"

So what does his domain authoirty and page authoirty mean for me?

Surely you can . Better and optimised content plus a few links from relevant sources ( if he has no back links ) . You may need to wait for sometime to see the result

what is your PR/DA? and don't rewrite his content, just write premium quality content about your website and build backlinks on High Authority sites, surely you can overcome him

That is not TOO bad, but it would be easy to out rank with backlinks, constant content, and social media signals ( facebook likes/shares, twitter retweets/favorites, Google + +1's, etc). How old is your domain? What is your current PA/DA? You spoke to your competitor? That is unusual haha.

Also his domain age is 5-6 years old, I only have a new domain, but i guess i have to invest into a aged domain?

Also, i heard him talking in a internet seminar, and i ended up trying to find his exact niche over the course of 2 days and i finally found it.

His website is so simple and effective is that i just want to copy it but change a few things around. I wonder if that will be okay? But im acctualy wanting to expand a little bit more than just his niche sense there is around 100 different things i could also sell through my "upcoming website" that would be keyword related

Ill defantly outsource all the content, but im checking all the other websites that are in the same niche and they all share same content except for the guy that im kind of copying deffantly has the best in-depht informative website which is really setting himself apart from all the competition.

Maybe i wont be in this exact niche if i dont think i can be more informative than him but theres 1000 different niches i could with his website layout. I just love it.

The problem with the guy that i might be competing with his that he has limited himself in the niche as where i could expand. hmmmm i dont know what to do.

if the competition is less, you can easily out rank him with few good links.

yeah i agree with you mate..

If it is a low or medium competition KW, You CAN. But if it a high competition you want to wait for some time. by doing a perfect Onpage and do relevant backlinks from High DA sites along with Social Media Shares, surely you will.

But concentrate more in Content and backlinks

    Cheers!!!!
