Alright, I have to admit. I'm not very educated in SEO at all. I've been reading these forums for the past three months roughly. Lurking mainly :)

But I've come to a deadline sort of problem!

Now basically here is the thing. I'm trying to dominate a keyword in google searches. It's very low in competition. About 7 pages when you search for it actually. Now the website I'm trying to advertise for is very new. Not even released officially actually. The PR is still unranked also!

So basically....instead of lurking anymore and trying to learn overtime. I need help getting my blog or website one of the top searches for the keyword before the site goes live. Week or few left till than roughly.

The steps I've taken so far well. I bought the .org and .info address with the same name as the website coming out.

I also have created a blog for about every popular keyword on blogger and some other free websites. Around 85 in total! Now the only thing I did that has shown so far was create a yahoo answers question and answered it. So it's the second result already.

What can I do to really get a head start so when the site is released my site will be #2 or #3? I don't have money for programs. But what I do have is free time.

Any help would be great! It's not often you get a chance like this and I want to be ready! Small tips, big tips! Anything! Please :)

Thanks in advance! Hopefully you guys have some free time to help a fairly new forum member!

Ive always been confused by "Not released officially" - can you explain what you mean by that?

I mean (not being funny or whiney or anything) but to me a site is UP or its NOT UP.

How can it be "OFFICIALLY UP" and "ONLY UP" at the same time?

What makes a site "OFFICIALLY" released? Do you do something to make it OFFICIAL which I miss out on?

Once my html is online and the dns is working and the host serves it publicly - to me thats official - so either up or not up.

    :)

Now then - on to your site - get a couple of links - if the competition is only 7 pages and youve done your title and content right 5 links will probably do.

Write to people and ask around here for link exchanges.

    Sorry for the confusion!

The website is "up" as in you can visit it. But hasn't officially been released to sign up yet. It's a service type website where you sign up and such. So in other words it hasn't been released to members on their other site or been advertised by anyone yet.

I just happened to find it by checking out their servers off some random website (luck I guess you would call it) and looking around here and there.

Now when you say get a couple of links? I assume you mean back links? This is the hardest part about lurking, and by that I mean actually understanding. But I'll take your advice and see if I can't find some people to link exchange with me!

Now also, I always hear content is key! Titles, keywords! So on and so on! No matter how much I read I'm slightly off. Not to sound hopeless of course. Just think I need a nudge in the right direction to get over the current road block.

As of right now, all similar websites like the one I'm advertising for. I have taken all similar and related keyword searches. The title of my site I make that, and I try and use those key words here and there and tag it with the main one. Is there some magical content someone wrote that I'm missing to be more exact? Or is it trial and error? Thanks so far!
