    Hi All,

So I've been around IM for many years now, I've made a ton of money, lost a lot of money, made it back in IM, and lost it in real estate two times. I figured the best way to go is back to my roots and start small again.

Here's what I'm going to do.

#1 Build a Blog around my current job (very niche wholesale manufacturing business)
#2 Build a mailing list around the DIY community in this niche (quite popular)
#3 Build a forum relating to the niche (already an active member in a "competitor")
#4 Build exclusive content, and affiliate for top brands in the niche

    First Few months
Post 3-5 articles weekly ranging between 500-1000 words and at least 1 photo in each post.
Slowly begin adding recommendations for products and build the mailing list

Month 4-6 Build Social Media profiles and pushing the email list and social media sales channels for the niche.

Month 6+ we'll see when we get there! LOL

I'm in need of good tools and plugins for SEO and links to help with information on SEO, been out of the game for some time. Also, some way to track metrics, aside from GAnalytics.

Update: just posted my second article and included my amazon affiliate links of necessary products in my niche.

Also targeted specific forum posts at popular forum to direct traffic to my post.

29 PV's from yesterday (my first day)

    Congrats on taking the plunge!

Instead of waiting for 4-6 months, create the social profiles now and start sharing the content and generating some initial buzz for your site(s). There are automation programs available for social media growth (look in the marketplace), and you can easily integrate Ifttt.com to share your latest blog posts via social platforms (such as facebook, twitter etc) automatically.

for tracking stats, you can try statcounter, however i dont think that will do everything you want it to do.

Good luck OP! kick some ass!

    Thanks for the advice.

I just created an Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Page all with the username of the blog and created IFTTT recipes for it all, (minus the instagram - for some reason wasnt working for me?)

I'll start designing the social media profiles now, and throwing some content up there.

Question: What more can I do for blogging? I have plenty of time on my hands, and want to be effective.

Did a lot of Social media today, and launched an email subscriber list.

In the middle of writing another article about a recipe and going to be posting that as well today.

Still looking for advice on how to SEO the hell out of this blog.
