    Hi all,

this is extremely surprising for me, becuz my blog(1 week old) is ranking number 1 on google for a specific keyword with 3,600 other websites.

is that normal ? any advices ?

my site is ranked on 4th page for another keyword with (18,400) comp.
and on 3rd page for another keyword with (632,000) comp.

again,i am surprised. is there a chance that this is just a lucky day and tomorrow it will be gone?!

If your site is new then watch out for Google to 'sandbox' your site.

I was sitting near the top of the search results for my keywords and then after 2 weeks my site was buried back many pages :(. Nothing I can really do except to wait for Google to take me out of the 'sandbox'.

No, this is not a surprise. If you have designed and optimised your page properally then overcoming under 4K results should be easy.

It is normal. On one week, you'll drop.

Also, it could be because of your geographical location. For us, probably you're not in 1st place. A link and keyword would be great to check.

    Quote from a website..
In the age of fair competition you may find it hard to believe that a search engine may hinder the appearance of a new website.

This is what is currently believed to be happening on more web servers today. Some programmers have viewed Google as uncomfortable to rank newer websites until they have proven their viability to exist for more than a period of "x" months. Thus the term "Sandbox Effect" applies to the idea that all new websites have their ratings placed in a holding tank until such time is deemed appropriate before a ranking can commence.

So don't take it personally if Google does sandbox your site.

You will get sandboxed if you gain links too quickly.

At this point I would advise you to wait a little and then slowly continue building links til your in an unasailable position. Then - rinse and repeat.

    3000 is hardly anything.

I have a blog which is on page 1 with 160.000 competitors.
Created it a few weeks ago and it has 4 articles and hasn't been updated in weeks.
I have done almost no advertising.

I really hate the sandbox my site is in it aswell and I had a top ranking for a killing keyword of 33,100 searches a month and 8,000 per additional keyword

you are not targeting a big niche so no reason for being sandboxed maybe you just wrote some good original content on your site.

First of all good job! That is normal for a search with that kind of competition. To avoid the sand box try to make sure your back links are coming from other sources then just social book marking.

Submit some articles to ezine and other article directory's. Go slow if you want your site to stand the test of time.

Write a good article for your site everyday. Of course do some keyword research with micro niche finder, market samurai or even just the google keyword tool.

Sounds like you're off to a great start, keep it up!

For a keyword with under 4k competitors (even in quotes), you should be able to rank very well with very minimal effort You may drop down to the sandbox, but that should be easy to overcome, and you'll be back on top.

The more Google senses a new site as being rapidly indexed or ranked, the more it smells seo manipulation, and reaches for the sandbox lever. It's almost as if you have to set up a skeleton of a domain or subdomain, then not work on it for months, thereby 'aging' it enough to beat the sandbox when you do start to optimize it. Go figure.
