Hi, so I have an emd blog on a finance niche and im trying to get it ranked on the 1st page of google for the main keyword.
I used ahrefs to see whats the current ranking of my site and it says #48. I've tried searching for my site on google.com using chrome incognito mode and from what i see, its nowhere to be found, also used webproxy and still the same. From what i see, im not ranking for my main keyword, but thats nots what it says on ahrefs, can anyone tell me whats going on?

Tools are tools just that with varying accuracy, and many give different results...

As for G suggest you add some quality new content to your site with KW content that you are after ranking... that will get you ranked then move on from there...

Try pulling in some current news then spinning the article and writing a short opinion on that article. Include a link to the original article.

I think Google has put a temporary penalty against your blog because of low quality unnatural links.. have you drip feed them or just blasted them away? guest posts can recover almost any penalty but it takes some time.
