    Hello guys,

I've been lurking on this site for a few months and I have one amazon affiliate project in the past. That project is still alive, but I failed with it because I didn't do a proper keyword research. That keyword has a too low month searches, but I'm ranked #2 for that keyword and this site are making a few bucks here and there.

After reading a lot and doing stuff on that project, I learned a lot and I decided to go with another project. I've done a comprehensive keyword research and competitive analysis, so I'm confident that I can beat a competition.

Main buying keyword (Best + product) has 1000+ local monthly searches. There are a lot other long-tail keywords with more than 1000 searches that I'll target.

I've already bought a domain and hosting and wrote some articles by myself. My home article has about 3500 words and the structure of this article is:

    • Introduction
    • Comparison Chart with a few best products
    • Short reviews about these products from the comparison chart

Also, I wrote 5 review articles that are around 1000 words each and one Top X type of article that is around 2k words.
A great thing is that I have two other blogs that are partially in my niche with DA around 30, so I can build some links from those blogs too.

    My content strategy:
I plan to publish one article every two-three days. Two review articles/one general article.
Each article will be around 1000 words because I'm passionate about the niche and I like to provide a great quality and detailed content for the readers.

    My backlink strategy:
I will build backlinks with blog comments on blogs that are related to my niche, build a few more web 2.0 sites and put some content with links that are pointing to my money site, build some related content on my other two blogs and link to my money page and share my articles on social media.

If you have any questions or advices I would like to read them.
I have one question: What do you think about homepage structure?

    Best regards guys.

    Home Page:
It seems you have a good plan. You said you would target other long tail keywords with 1000+ local searches. You can consider to choose keywords even close to 200 monthly search if you find them rankable.

Great advice, thank you. I'll do some research about these kw's and try to implement them in my content.

Quick question: Like I said, I have another niche site but I failed with kw research. Is it worthwhile to change a targeted kw on this site which is still related to this niche? Also, I plan to write a new homepage with a new targeted kw's and change menu of the page. Is it worthwhile or am I loosing my time?

    Update: Day 3
Put one informative article with 1600+ words. Do some blog comments on a related niche sites and submit my url to a few directories.
Ranked in a top 100 for a few kw's (not a targeted one, but related).

Plan for the next few days:
-put one info article with around 2000 words
    -put two reviews

    That's all from me.
    Happy New Year fellas.

I would advise you to keep the homepage as a blog if you want to add 50+ articles OR use homepage as a static page with 2000+ words. that's what i do.

    Week 1 update:

So far I have 8 articles, 1 pillar article and homepage with 3.5k words. I built some do-follow links and create few 2.0 blogs. Also I linked from my other two blogs (DA: around 30) to homepage.
Main kw is in top 100 for now.

    Plans for this week:
    -
publish three reviews and one information post
    -build some links manually
-ordered some web 2.0 and social bookmark links

    Amazon stats:

So far I've got 25 click without a single order. Hope this will change when some of those links get indexed.

    Happy New Year fellas.

This is awesome good luck. I was just wondering where you are getting your articles from? Write them yourself seems to be the best option except in terms of scaling?

    Cheers and good luck

    Thanks man for kind words.
I'm writing them by myself. I'm in this niche in real life so I have a chance to use these products in my everyday life. It's not that hard to write a detailed review. Also, Amazon is my ultimate source of information to make article even more detailed.

    The domain is expired one.

    Quick question:

I see that my ranking for main kw dropped for almost 100 places in few days. Is it a normal thing with new websites?

Let your new web 2.0s age before you use them to link to your main site to stay under the radar. Another important thing is to keep your link rate steady. It should look natural. Since you are targeting relatively low competition keywords, I feel its better to focus on content and on-page SEO first. That should help you to rank. If you are stuck at some position then backlinks will help you to give that extra push.

So you think that a good idea is to remove these 2.0 links from new 2.0 pages?

Look at the different department and search for the product which I have an interest in. After I found a few of these products, I run kw planner with "best kw" or "kw reviews". If I'm satisfied with results then I'm going to check top 10 competitors on google in that niche with SEOquake and MozToolbar.

That's pretty much a whole thing.

    Update:
I published two review articles and working on information article atm. Each review article has about 700-1000 words, and information article will have about 1500 words.
I'm really happy today because I noticed on analytics first 5UV with average session time of 5:30 mins which is great in my opinion.
I'm not checking serps that often anymore because I'm confident that I can beat any competitor in my niche over time.

    Clicks: 7
    Orders: 0
