So this is my first ever journey post, and I'd like to start it off by saying that bhw has been real. For all newbies, be sure to do your own research outside of bhw such as professional internet/non-internet marketing terms, softwares, resources, etc. As time went by (including my unregistered time) browsing through this site, I have built a fundamental base of knowledge to lead me in a direction that I can build off of. And this is something that starters tend to forget.:

It is your responsibility to build your own knowledge base.

    ** Education ** ** Education **

And no, I don't specifically mean a piece of paper form of education (I'm not saying you should drop out). I barely graduated high school and I dropped out my first semester of college. Knowledge is a property of yours that can never be taken away. Build it, never neglect it.

Your brain is a muscle. Without exercising a muscle, it loses strength overtime. Try to develop a daily routine that consists of reading a paper book, eating healthy, and exercising. However many times these online marketing gurus stress "mindset" to people on youtube to newbies, it cannot be any truer. Without a correct mindset, or a comfortable environment, you can't progress.

With that said, I also want to thank all you active bhw posters, you have brought inspiration and knowledge.

    My Journey To $xx,xxx/week
I jumped into adult traffic just over 6 months ago after I found out how big porn is in a statistical perspective. I very well agreed that sex sells before, but after actually finding out the numbers behind adult traffic, I now preach that sex sells.

Here's a big list of traffic sources compiled by a very generous fellow, then @bayshorekid borrowed it and kindly posted it for all of us to learn from:) thank you! https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/huge-list-of-traffic-sources.642753/

    The method
Running banner ads on adult ad networks for $0.23 CPM to the US market. Build an ROI of 333%.

I am going to create a guide, sort of speak, to show any other interested im'ers on where to begin to start making money.

First off, pick a product or a service to start promoting. I am not going to go in-depth with this, you can find other threads on here that will help you find a perfect CPA network with adult related products, simply search on google: site:blackhatworld.com "CPA networks"+"adult" "list" and you'll find a good one. I am going to promote male enhancement pills. A lot of adult media buyers say that it is the hardest niche to get into, but from testing, I found that I receive warmer traffic than dating sites because of my creatives. But that's just me. Let's move on.

    What I need
    - domain (landing page)
    - creatives (GIF)
    - a budget
    - ad network
    - affiliate offer

So I have my domain and landing page, I have my creatives, I have my budget, my ad networks and the affiliate offer. But I am gonna go through it step-by-step to show the process.

Buying the domain is self explanatory.

    Landing page
This is where you start to test your self drive, and aspiration. If you don't lose focus in collecting landing page inspiration from porn sites, this means you have a goal. For you's that do lose focus, just try to not do it again. Keep hitting refresh for new ads to load on the xxx site, save the landing page URL to break it down, and collect 10 landing page variations. From there you should have a basic understanding on what is working and what isn't.

After you are done studying the landing page, build the page. If you don't know html/css, link up with a developer or buy an html theme. Keep in mind your notes should direct you in what type of landing page you are looking for: blog post, multiple choice, etc.

    Building your creatives
I will of course need a gif editing software, and photoshop seems to be the easiest one for me. Other programs can work as long as you can edit text in it. I now need creative inspiration, again don't lose focus. Study 10 good creatives for different ad placements. I chose PC NTV A and PC NTV B, which is the spot next to the video. I sought it out to be the most converting, but you can do your own a/b testing of course to find that out. But I have developed a system that I follow.

    1. Create 3 eye catching titles in a spreadsheet with CTA's
    2. Download 10 GIFs from the internet (they are very easy to find just google: "porn""gifs" site:tumblr.com

Be sure to make it relevant to your offer. If it's male enhancements, you can search for .... you get the idea.
Save all the gif original names in a folder, and place their names in a spreadsheet. Check out my gyazo screenshot: https://gyazo.com/113ec648d0e6b918fb95a68a04b7277d

As you can see how I neatly organized my creatives and some are highlighted red. After I created 30 creatives, I went ahead and went through all 30 of them and chose 9 good ones that stood out. I will be running $1 testing for all of them to find out their CTR's. After the I collect the data, I pick the top 3 CTR's and create 3 more creatives to optimize my gifs for a higher CTR again. I take the CTR that is the highest and I again try to get a higher CTR. And that will be my cretive I run with.

If you are following along, at this point I think you know the ad network of your choice to go for. I started off with Exoclick.com, and I still use it. They have a $200 minimum deposit.

Anyways, I think I have turned this journey thread to a guide. I am going to stop there, if you guys have any questions, feel free to comment them to this thread.

    Goal
Push my budget hopefully to $x,xxx/day with a 1,110% ROI on all my banner ads. My weekly campaign budget is ok, I have a 330% ROI campaign running for a 45% commission on a $39.99 product.

Wish me the best. I will keep posting on this thread for updates.

I haven't changed the budget, but I have another traffic stream. I looked up some erotic websites, forums, image sites, and checked their popularity. After contacting a few of the webmasters, I asked for a test ad placed on their platform. I ran a test ad for a full day long on an inner page receiving only 10% of their traffic load, and I was able to reach:

    105 new users, 230 sessions, 1 sale.

So the ad is placed in a well relatable page to my niche so I'm receiving good quality traffic.

His website receives 22k unique users a day, 500K page views a day. His price to advertise for 50% of the traffic (banner rotation with other brands) is $100 a week.

I'm not sure how many impressions I received on the ad to know my CTR from the source to my landing page, but at 10% of it's traffic on an inner page, not the homepage, I received 105 unique users. At 50%, I'm looking at 500 new users daily, for 7 days.

    7 * 500 = 3,500 unique users a week.

    My CPC is right under $0.03: $100 / 3,500 = $0.029

And out of 105 users I had one sale. So that's almost 1%. At 1% of 3,500 new users I am looking at 35 new sales from this traffic source. I'll be looking for more opportunities similar to this one. So far I'm receiving 10k unique visits a day from my ad network traffic, my first benchmark is increasing that to 100k/day visits by the end of this month. Will post again this Friday.

I used to convert big amounts of adult traffic back in the days where dialers existed. That was really easy money if you had the right connections to offers (premium numbers).Your test on that board is way to short to be able to make any analyze but its a good sign to start a paid test.
I know the big players who are buying a lot of traffic however i can't imagine you will ever be able to compete with anybody when using standard offers for small webmasters.Dont get me wrong even on good old adultfriendfinder times we got our 70% rev commission so nobody had a chance to compete where small webmasters had 35% and webmasters doing $1k+/week (profit) 55% .
If you want really to go big in media buying you need the best possible conditions for your product or to start your own product.

I agree 999% @Humanity, it's very true. The serious traffic buyers, and I know a few personally, are pulling in 8 figures a year. They have exclusivity to commissions no CPA network can offer to their affiliates. I am sticking with the product I am promoting now because they allow their affiliates to grow with them. My commission right now holds at 58% on the products. I started at 25% but the performance I have showed to the brand allowed me to gain more in commission.

Unless you plan to host a DMCA ignored business domain and a business entity in an offshore account to then try to get accepted for both the CPA Nework you would like to promote and the Ad networks you would like to advertise on, do not promote pharmacy products. I'm not saying I have learned my lesson or that I have experience in selling over the counter pharmaceuticals via online, but rest assured that the legalities are not worth promoting.

I currently am not promoting a product found in a CPA network, but a product I am directly affiliated with. You can find it in my signature. Like I have mentioned before, they allow their affiliates to grow with the brand. You'll understand what I mean about that.

I can't imagine having 100k visits a day. Pretty mind boggling.

I wasn't able to post last Friday for any updates because they were none. My direct website ads were not live, and my ad network ads were not performing well. Maybe all the holiday festivities had an affect on the audience I am targeting. Oh well, I have learned that traffic consistency is key. As long as you have proved the traffic source is good from a few conversions, keep funding the traffic stream. But continue split testing!

I will be updating again by the end of this week!

You need to split test!!! I guarantee you your first problem was poor ad placement. Second problem was a low CTR creative. You need to know what kind of traffic you are going to deal with. I'll guide you right now on how to maximize your ads.

    First thing first.

    Organize

Go ahead and create yourself a google spreadsheet to track your campaign performance. Name it 'Campaign Performance'
This is to keep yourself organized, and save money from using any tracking programs. I use google docs because it's the best for project management.

    Creatives

Go and fetch some inspiration. Find an ad that is shown repeatedly in your niche on a popular xxx site. If you see this ad 5 times total on that site, it means it's CTR is high, and that the creative works. Save that image, and study it. Why does this ad work? What is present in this image? Is there text? Is there nudity? Is the girl attractive or not? (usually creative editors try to relate to the traffic with ugly girls so it can show these girls are average). You really need to break down the ad as much as you can so you can then duplicate it. You'll need to use a photo editing program, a free one from the internet will suffice.

Ideally I create 9 creatives, and run a budget of $5 for CPC on all 9 to the most converting spot (NTV A/B I think), and stop them all at the same time. I stop them after $1 has been spent on all of them. Time to collect data.

For all the campaigns with the same amount of spending, which one had the highest CTR? I pick my top 3, create 3 variations of the ad for each one, and run 9 again. I repeat my process again. And collect data. Which one had a high CTR? My two highest CTR out of the 9 will be my golden creatives. I'll run with them. After a day, which one out performed the other? Now fund the extra golden creative for a full week, stay consistent with the traffic streams. After a whole week, again, run the numbers. What was your ROI? How can you maximize your ads? Do you need to change your landing? etc.

So for you to start this up again @Deutsch69, get 5 creatives. Setup a CPC campaign for testing so you don't jump in CPM model based RTB yet, although I prefer CPM (it's easier to win your bids for the traffic if it's CPM based) but CPC is good to split test with. So if you are going to do the german local hookup offer, is it only german based? Or german girls looking to hookup in your area? Because it's usually for just german girls, and any location.

PM if you need help, but I strongly advise to run numbers before running full force with media buying. You can spend $200 and get 100 signups, or just completely fail.

I can help you out, just ask me questions. Happy New Year :)
