Since I am representing a lot of customers I spend several thousand dollars every month in our BST section. These are some simple tips for the BST sellers. 1) Ordering should be fast and easy. If you can't even have a simple wufoo form don't expect a lot of business. That is an obvious amateur sign. It also means you like shortcuts and don't like bothering with the details. 2) I am a mature male and I feel pretty interesting while ordering 'The Powerpuff Girls Mega Shield lll' package with all the childish images around. It is not a kindergarten. Stop investing time and money in those fancy designs and spend that time improving the quality of your service. 3) Clearly identify your targeted audience. If you are looking for serious IM'ers don't try to sell talking about revolutionary wiki links that will get you to top positions within hours. One questionable statement makes me question your reputation and press the back button. 4) Colors matter. http://daddu.net/the-power-of-colors/ take your time and start studying sales and conversions, A/B testing. 5) Don't ask me to review your service after sending me a report me without your link thread - I don't have time to search for your thread in the BST section. Always think about making it comfortable for the customer to leave you a review or even bribe them with a 10% discount copy for your service. 10% for a bump and a nice review sounds like a fair deal for me. 6) Don't be cheap with the free review copies while starting out. Free is a magic word and it will get you a lot of positive reviews since people tend to feel obligated after receiving free services. They will even miss the tiny mistakes in 99% cases. 7) Don't miss your chance to sell while sending reports or communicating with your customer. For example having a signature is a good non-annoying way to do it. Have a signature with your emails/PM's that offers 20% percent discount for service 'A' because you ordered service 'B' in the past. Everybody likes personalized offers and discounts. I feel really loved when I know that the discount is only for me and some 2-3 guys - not for everyone that is just willing to send you a buck. Again - start learning about conversion ratios and sales in general. 8) Customer support matters a lot. Even if your service is not the best and you did some mistakes customers will forgive if they feel that they matter a lot to you. Nobody wants to leave a negative review for a nice guy that is treating you with respect. This is probably the most important tip. I hope it helps some of you to get more sales and profit.
I couldn't agree more! I've ordered 10 services on BHW, of them I've only had a positive transaction with 2 people. If your offering a service it's YOUR job to treat the customer right.
I'd like to add 9) Communication: I'd like to know if my order is going to be delayed before it is, and I really don't want to waste time trying to contact you to see why I haven't received my report. Please don't ignore me. I will spam your bst
Excellent post. It's about time someone created this! I'd also like to add, it's become apparent some people(s) seem to be copying services over and created a new thread, re-wording their service or creating a new GFX for it. I'd just like to see; What you're offering, for how much and some reviews and reports. Nothing else. No promises, no "MASSIVE SERP IMPROVEMENT GUARANTEED" Also, learn to price please, I'm not going to pay you $300 for something I can do manually or I have programs for, unless it's going to save me a lot of time or it's truly worth it, in my opinion the quality of services has declined!
Actually, I'd be quite interested if somebody named their BST" Get the Highest Quality PowerPuff Anti-Mojo Jojo Mega Shields Here!" Part of my childhood, couldn't resist
I'd say drop those graphs showing 'serp improvements' also.. I can draw one with paint in 5 minutes right now. Really not necessary, and just seems the seller is trying make up for a lack of confidence in his service.
Sellers need quality and psychology. They start with good or ok support and it falls into "if people want it, they will buy it." I feel that customer support needs to be 5 stars, customer experience needs to be 5 star, and the stars need to be voted by the clients. Also, each BST should have a deep psychology attached to it. Research their market, make the product (not take Fiverr shit and up the price), create results for REAL WORLD (not shit that promises a increase for MNS sites only), and finally they need to acknowledge that the customer is always right in business. EVEN IF the customer is trying to rip you off, they should always be right, handled with 5 star customer support, maybe incentives added just to make them feel like crap. I already expressed some of my tiny ideas on how to create a good BST, and then upgrade it into a awesome BST. Sellers need to focus on psychology and benefits of the service, not random numbers in dollar signs ...
4) Colors matter. http://daddu.net/the-power-of-colors/ take your time and start studying sales and conversions, A/B testing. This one was new to me. Awesome post Buddy
Mostly valid points except for nitpicking about the design. I could give a rats cunt if the design of the salespage was justin bieber in a tight (sexy?)skirt as long as I get what is advertised.
...I...well...hm...agree?...i agree. I agree. ehh. edit: there's this song on the radio, part of the chorus the dude gets super excited and shouts "I got that justin bieber, please believe it!" and it has become my go-to phrase in public. edit edit: in the song he talks about having that miley cyrus, ok that makes sense. but justin bieber? white boy? jb? suddenly things get pretty dark, considering it seems like a heavy set fellow is rapping these lyrics. OP, the way I see it is the BST that are childish are meant for people who wouldn't know good or bad results, but want to see a report with links posted. Guarantee service resellers buy some of these services. On the other hand, I've bought services from professional BSTs and would have rather just spent the time doing the work myself. You really need to look at the BST content for what is actually being provided, and the BST can provide an indication of how the campaign might go(if there is bad grammar and spelling mistakes in the BST, would you really want to buy a press release or content-related service?). If it's flashy and fluffy, you may be buying essentially SEO cotton candy. Happened to me in 2010. Also, never invest what you cannot lose.
LOL!! the song you are referring to is "Believe it" by Rick Ross ( Heavy set rapper as you said ) and when he says " I Got that justin bieber, please believe it " he is using justin bieber as a Metaphor for Cocaine ( which is white ) because justin bieber is white. Same for Miley Cyrus.
I would like add my view. These are my personal habits. Communication between seller and the buyer is the most important factor of BST. Sometimes seller may not be able to deliver his/her service within TAT. Do not wait till expire the TAT since the seller already knows that he is not in a position to deliver the order within time frame(except some extreme conditions). So inform the buyer regarding the delay. and do not wait till buyer contact you. update the buyer on where you are in the service process. Then He/she have the trust on you. Even if expected results are not achieved from your service Buyer will always respect you.
