I am here in bhw for the past 10 months and had a good time here so my 600th post is not so special for others but hope it will help out some newbies here so i thought to share this simple tutorial as my 600th post !

By now i would like to thank all members who helped me here and supported me for the past 10 months and to my foes if any i am sorry if anything done against you !

Thank you all for your love & support !

Here is the tutorial - How to transfer your domain from one registrar to another

Here in my example suppose i want to transfer my domain from netfirms to godaddy then these are the steps

1. Login to your netfirms domain cpanel and just ask them the authorization code or secret code of your domain they will provide you by sending it your mail registered with them.

Note:Before transfering your domain if privacy is enabled please disable it first else you can't transfer

2. Then just visit godaddy(in my case) and enter the domain name to be transfered and they will charge you for that and you will get 1 year + the days remaining before

3.Then you have to authorize your transfer for that login to your godaddy cpanel and click my accounts and under my domains you can see many tabs domains, transfer, auctions etc..click on transfer and you will find your transfered domain there.

4.Click on your domain and authorize and it will ask for
Transaction ID and Security Code

5. You will get a mail from godaddy to the email you have registered with netfirms(in my case) in that mail you can find your
Transaction ID and Security Code just enter it there.

6. In the next step you will be asked for authorization or secret code of your domain (which you got from netfirms) just enter it there and click next thats all you have to do

7. Then you will get a mail from netfirms(in my case) stating that the domain is about to transfer to godaddy just ignore that mail and in 5-6 days your domain transfer will be completed and now in my case the domain will get transfered to godaddy from netfirms.

Hope this is the same for all registrar try and if there are any queries regarding domain transfer kindly post it here so that i may help you !

Thanks

Thanks! I just bought a bunch of domains from netfirms a few days ago and my plan is to host them with Godaddy so this tutorial is more than useful :)

Congrats on your 600th post! I'm still far from it :P

A very simple tutorial but very helpful - when I was transferring domains a few months ago for the first time, I did have a few problems with it :D

Heh, you guys talk too much. I joined this site a while back and haven't even posted 100 times. I suppose I've just been spending more time reading than typing. Anyway, good job @OP!
