    Hello,
Instead of gunking up PHPBLUEPRINT's fantastic thread (cant link cause I'm a newb) I decided to start a 30 day blog of my results using what I grasped of his concepts.
    Here's some basics:

1 blog with 28 pages of original content. 14 month old domain. Currently averages around 1300 views per month. Averages $23 per month in Adsense and a 6.2% CTR.
I'll be adding 1 page of content per day to this website (I have other projects I work on as well) and testing/optimizing existing content as well as internal and external backlinking (external will all be web2.0 hand written links). But the core of this test is onsite optimization per PHPBUILT's recommendations.

Also, this is not a recommendation or condemnation of PHPBUILT's theories, it's just a test of my ability to interpret them. That being said the goal is not so much the money, but to increase keyword rankings.
I started reading his thread a week ago, and the bulk of changes were completed 3 days ago. Last night Jan. 1 I got a 50 kw subscription to serpbook and added my kw's. So really the testing began today.
At the end of the month I'll go over my reports versus my traffic and see if I made any headway.

These are the results after 20 hours or so

I'm already seeing results, so that's encouraging. I'll try to keep the keywords in place day to day to check the movements as I go. This will give a good baseline.
Most of my content (I write all my own) had around a 8-11% keyword density a few days ago, which is terrible. All keywords now are under 1.3% kwd. I made a bunch of site changes per PHPBUILT's article as well (added a static front page, removed breadrumbs that I could find, added excerpts, added a Google Authorship link, and many more).
I'm now going to review the kw that dropped and do some more optimization. I'll update again tomorrow.

Not a lot of changes overnight but I'll try to update this everyday before work.

    day2.png
    - did a 'no index' to the 'contact' and 'about' pages
    - updated the static homepage with a link to an HTML sitemap

Since I've updated every page on the site within the last 4 days I'm going to leave them untouched over the weekend and check the rankings. I know PHPBUILT says its about a 48 hour turnaround but I'd like to see if it's slower in my case. I'm already seeing an increase in traffic for whatever reasons, but, I'm more curious to see how things go over the next 4 weeks as a whole. The KW that I'm ranked #2 for has been getting about 3 or 4 unique's per day, even though Googles estimate puts it at 30 searches per month. It makes me wonder if making about 5 pages of content for some KW's under 50 searched per month would be a good test to see if I could rank them easy and if they make a trickle of money.

Interesting. I am actually trying to set up my own website using PHP's guide (along with KHer0's guide). I'll be following your journey :D

CTR Theme. I can't link anything yet but the theme owner is on this site I believe. I'm trying to migrate to my own custom theme on my other projects tho.

    Nice journey. I'm following :D

What keyword densities are you using for each 1-word, 2-word, 3-word, 4-word long keyword combos? 1.3% for each or his recommendation of 2% for 1, 1.5% for 2, 1% for 3?

Also, are you going to be building new backlinks to it? (backlinks would throw off the experiment won't it? It's easy to rank most things with backlinks involved)

I've been following this same strategy since he launched his thread, out of the 7 websites I used it on (some with pre-existing backlinks), 6 of them had no effect/dropped in rankings, and 1 of them shot up to the first page and is making 20-30 bucks a day now.

I'm keeping the main keyword (2 to 4 words) under 1.3%
Each individual word (of the keyword) is under 1.5%
No linking internal or external for the 30 day trial. It will be all about onsite optimization as you said.
And dang, I'd be thrilled with your results. Hopefully I'll be there soon. At this point it's a long learning experience. Nice work.

The big 'smack' results are telling me that the optimization made a huge initial difference. Before I couldn't even get on the board, and now they are at least in the top 200. As far as the ones that went down, I'm not sure if it's shuffling or moving about, but I'm not to worried about it at this point. The big goal is to get all the keywords to be on the board, and I can continue to optimize from there.

Not much new build wise yesterday or today since I caught the flu.

    day4.png

Right now all but 8 of those kw's are in the top 200. I don't have a screen shot prior to my first post but I had about 5 before the changes started happening. So far really good results.
