I've achieved 1000 rep not too far back, but didn't have a time to make a proper thread until now. 1 year ago I never thought I'd get over 100 rep let over a 1000, so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you BHW members for everything :)

This 1000 rep post will be about my journey through the IM sector and is dedicated to BHW and all those newbies who's just joined BHW wanting to know what they can make out of their lives if they work hard and smart.

I started in the IM world around 2009 when I got annoyed at all those surveys you have to take before being able to download a (mostly unavailable\fake) movie/song. I ventured into the CPA world and started off with Sharecash. I knew a thing or two about video editing and so made tons of videos and uploaded it on Youtube to promote my CPA offers. Most of my videos were related to the typical game cheat\hacks. I started off making a good $5-10 a day and then peaked at $200/day from Sharecash and Youtube videos alone once I started getting my video exposure using SPKs tools. It was a simple and rewarding job, and I simply scaled it. Back then, Youtube wasn't that strict about offers and was no where near as bad as how spammed out it is today with all the BS top comments falsely rated by bots.

I enjoyed good money for a few months before one day, all my accounts got banned on Youtube. I tried reuploading the video and changing certain parts of it to avoid duplicate detection but it never worked out before - all my income was gone and I was earning a mere $1-2 a day from the leftover videos that never really worked out in the first place. This is where I learned the hard way that you should never put all your eggs in one basket.

Let me repeat that - NEVER PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

After getting banned, I ventured into SEO and got into PPC, reinvested into CPA, did freelancing and a bunch of other jobs in various fields and have made good money since. If you only do Adsense, make multiple accounts, get different hostings, get different niches and websites, use different CMSes and ultimately get out of PPC and go into other IM fields. Same with other fields. The important concept here is to diversify. Yeah, you hear those gurus saying to diversify your links, but also diversify the way you make your income.

I bought lots of stuff with the money I made, saved some, and reinvested the remaining back into keeping my projects going. Remember to plan out your financials and never spend everything you earn at one go. ALWAYS leave some in case you decide to work on a new project, want to buy a new tool, hire a freelancer or some other need that you never really saw coming.

I just finished my first semester in medical school a few weeks ago. Being in medical school, finding time for IM is extremely difficult and drains everything out of you to manage both your academics and your IM businesses both at the same time. But I did. If I can excel in both with such limited time, I'm sure you can too. All you need is motivation and the right mindset. Think about that car you really want to get. Or that girl you really want to spend time with in a beach in Hawaii. Whatever that keeps you going, think about it.

There's no "secret money making method" here. I know what to do and what not to do solely by trial and error. I spammed the crap out of my first site and it got penalized in the end. I tried different link types, different methods, and tuned them to make them work in my favour. I didn't steal or beg anyone for methods, and you shouldn't too. Trust me, all you need is yourself, your computer and some good creativity.

These are some of the books I have to go through in a few semesters.

Hopefully I can still be earn good money from IM at the end of all this. I'm looking forward to my future IM journey and plan to expand everything in the coming weeks before my next semester starts. Phew, thanks for listening to my story. I'm going to hold a giveaway soon to give back to the community as I haven't done one in a while. Stay tuned, and please feel free to ask me any questions :D

    @FuryKyle

I generally getting pissed off at the number of "supposed milestones" for BHW members,
    e.g. I have 100 posts, I have 500 +reps, I have been a member here for x years etc....
in general that is, but there are indeed exceptions to that rule,
and indeed I include you in my list of exceptions, simply because you have earned your rep,
not by trolling and bs'ing your way, but you are a good contributor IMHO, and well deserved,
so for that I say congratulations and here's to the next 1,000 ;)

You are 1 of about 150 decent, honest and worthy members here in BHW who have my full admiration and respect.
Continued Good Luck with all your online endeavours and your offline work. Cheers

a contradiction that i recognize very well....

Doctors are usually people that look down on others because they haven't the same academical achievements and since they are getting payed so well, that even confirms their position.
While I think they are just following a predefined path already walked by others..; all they need to do is follow that path again successfully just by learning them books and techniques ... be good and you'll do fine...
in IM, especially seo, there is a lot of misinformation, even if it seems to make sence.... it's more of a battle while figuring out what rules are okey and what rules should be changed...

not every doctor is the way I describe but I've worked a lot with doctors as a developer and a lot of them really look down on others...

So I find it interresting that you follow both paths...

For now I'm doing the same thing... not as a doctor but as a developer, following the predefined structure of society where diploma's play a big role... and while I'm doing that to provide income for my family I also do IM to break free from that.

That is an inspiring post. It exemplifies the fact that anyone, under any conditions, can maintain an online business... all you need to do is start trying.

That's not exactly true. There are some doctors who are arrogant and disrespectful, but the prevalence of such doctors have greatly diminished as the medical sector is now more patient-centered. Back in the days you do exactly what your physician tells you to do, no questions asked. Nowadays with all the suing and medical legislation going on, patients have more autonomy than ever and I'm taught from the start that any professional process must be patient centered. Have faith, things will change as time progresses :)

Katzung is not that bad, I prefer the good old BNF (not sure where you are from but in the UK it's called the British National Formulary) for most of my stuff to get to know the basics and then rang and dale to go into a little more detail.

I'm going into my fourth and final year, soon to be a masters graduate :) and then one more training year after that haha. I actually have a few friends who are medics and a lot of their 3rd year involved being at the hospital which I guess will be a sick time for you.

I want to have a bigger purpose in life, and that purpose is to help people on a daily basis. Life isn't all about the money, it's how you live it and what you do with it.
