Must be hundreds of domains with WN.com - WTH is going on?

I've built a website scanner to find new social media services that allow me to post content on. After extracting possible sites that could qualify I often see the same design with a WN.com logo and some list of articles. Does anyone know what is going on and what the deal is?
Looks like WN.com is the only player or someone gaming it for some benefit I can't figure out.
Please help me figure this out.
