Welcome welcome... And thanks for clicking my thread. I'm new to the community and I'm really happy to be here. I'm a rapper\producer from Wilmington NC and I just graduated from school for music production and I plan to return in January for Business administration. I've always loved making money and music so that's the plan. I feel like growing up in the internet age... I owe it to my unborn children of the future to take advantage if the internet... Yea, so that's the background....
    Now here's my idea...
I just finished school so I'm obviously broke and in debt... Ole college try, the college hustle right... But I'm finished now and need to focus on making money so I can be apart of the capitalism society. So here is what I came up with...

I'm finishing up a beat CD that I made... Rap instrumentals already prepared for rappers to record their vocals over and try to get a buzz...
Rappers (target market) need beats (product) to make songs and hopefully money so they can live out there dreams that they have been programmed to crave. I don't have to go into statistics for you to know there is money being spent on music. Radio, TV, movies, etc... All over the internet there are people spending $20, $40, $80 on single individual track leases for songs, YouTube videos etc. The artist knows the value of the music to his/her career and will spend $$. I'm interested in that infrastructure as well but I'm looking to package 15-20 beats for $20.00 in one beat tape. And this is digital products that we're talking about so there is no overhead... $20.00 X 10,000 equals 😀 $20 X 100,000 equals 😃😃😃... Then Vol 2 comes out... Who sees my vision? Let's talk numbers...

Hire a freelancer section... Overly optimistic ideas... You're trying to find a JV aren't you? Wrong section. Too few posts. Nice try though.

    That's $2 million just for Vol 1.

If you did 12 per year (just 1 per month), that's $24 million per year.

That's a quarter of a billion dollars in a decade.

If you did 1 per week, you'd be a billionaire in 10 years.

I see where you are going here...

It means Junior Varsity, like not first string. LOL
    It's Joint Venture:
You have ideas/product/plan and you partner with someone that has the tools/know-how and money gets split in some percentage. Sounds like you need a shitload of fake soundcloud likes and plays to create some buzz.

There's enough places you can start selling these today. Find music library sites similar to Audiojungle that fit your product. Find forums, post ads for rappers etc.

I don't see why you need a partner at this point. Instead of "talking numbers" just sell some of your beats today. You said you were broke.

Lol... Oh ok... Because Junior Varsity is the first thing that popped in my mind but I knew that couldnt be right.
I was thinking about buying traffic to send to the project to create a buzz but I didn't think I needed a joint venture either but you did give me some ideas. I just needed some assistance setting up the infrastructure. I could chase down artist individually on Twitter and probably make a sale but i want to maximize my efforts from the beginning... That's why I posted in the free lance section. Of coarse I would be willing to pay the individual for the time involved and that could be a percentage that depreciates to 0 over time. I don't know much about website design other than a word press blog and I'm just getting familiar with pay per click Google ads, FB ads etc...
The most experience I have with IM is MCA (motor club of America) and drop shipping on eBay. My vision is to have a website where people can buy tracks at different price points (Mp3, Wav, tracked out) and squeeze pages of different beat tapes at a $20 price point. The client would get there digital product instantly and money is being made while sleeping. Catering to wallets and pocket books...All while building a list for email marketing in the other end.

    What he said.
Plus get in every facebook group related to your genre. Find all the local artists with huge followings that haven't made it.
You know how to run a wordpress blog so you're halfway there on that end. Definitely get on soundcloud and make youtube videos of your beats and put links in all those places. Before the overpriced Beats by Dre shit you would have had a shot in the search engines, but now "beats" "buy beats" "beats for sale" "get beats" are all raped and it will be pretty difficult, and doing search ads with those terms will just waste your money. Unless you can find other keywords to target your customers. Did I mention soundcloud? If you're not already trying to exploit that avenue, you need to. Anyone to do with music is all over that shit.
