Hi Im new to the site, so I hope I'm not out of line asking for help. I've been searching through the BHW archives about how to monetize a music blog, and there isnt too much information. From the info on this site ive learned to join CJ, and made eMusic and mTraks my affiliates.
I get about 400 uniques/day. I make about 60cents per day from uploading.com (from downloads). I also make about 30cents a day from adsense, which i hear is pointless for music blogs anyway. I've only been running my affiliate programs for a few days, but right now for 2000 impressions I have 2 clicks and 0 conversions.
Yesterday I made a Twitter acct; today I submitted to millionrss and some blog directories. most of my traffic comes from goog, and the rest from music blog aggregators.
I've had this blog for a few years and its PR3. Can anyone help me turn it into a money maker?

    have a look:

Make your site less personal and shitty looking. You have your name on that header pic. It looks like shit and it makes me not want to stay. Your catch phrase is "Where the links never die lol" This doesnt have anything to do with your site. I learn nothing about the content nor do I feel complelled to stick around to check it out.

Move your adsense to the top of every post instead of the bottom.

Write more content about the bands and how great they are to get people to buy albums/get mp3 from emusic.

Make sure you mentions how they can get free music from emusic frequently.

Create an opt in list where you give people something free to do with music. Maybe even just a daily song/album review they can check out.
You can use your list to send them music products. how to play guitar ebooks and shit.

    Word.

    CPALEAD.com FTW!

A quick explanation, basically it will lock up your content and make a visitor complete CpaLeads offer in order to break the look, have it fade, and view the content on that page. You get like $.50 a lock brake, and all the user has to do is complete 1 survey.

I would suggest you lock all your downloads (the ones uploaded on uploading.com). I know it's a bit much, but if you don't give a fuck about your customers and u dont care about a community, then you are going to be in some serious green w/ traffic like that.

I would estimate it making you about $16 a day ( if you locked all ur songs with it), but with a it more traffic, you could earn as much as $40.

or check your analytics and only lock the most popular pages :)

as for your cpa's dude i went to your page... A you really gotta get a better theme and layout i had to actually look around to find your ads! no ones gonna look for a banner to click lol that one on top right is far too small, the one on bottom right is WAAAAYYYYY to far down the page to have anyone click it... and black motif tend to put people off from buying anyway.

ok well in my defense i never intended to make money off of this site. i have used it to promote the bands i was in and it was highly successful in serving that purpose. and "where the links never die" is in reference to how commonly youll try to find an album and the rapidshare DL will be dead. george de large is an alias.
now that im done defending myself i appreciate all the input, and ill start working on each of these areas to varying degrees. i had used some sharecash links (without much success). 40 dollars a day is my goal. im going to ease into CPAlead slowly so i dont piss everyone off... lets hope it works. any other ideas?

start an FSRevolution site with good payments and promote the heck out of it on your music site. Than drop Cpalead altogethor because it will annoy the heck out of your visitors.

CodeBreaker is better, much better! But it is more complicated to setup and you can't really track campaigns. You will see almost 8x better returns with it, but again there is no tracking, it is self hosted, and a bit harder to setup with no coding knowledge.

Here's what I suggest to all noobs. Get started with CPALead, and once you are making money on it, simply switch platforms to increase your revenue.

by placing my ads at the top of my post ive moved from like a 0.17 CTR to 1.47%!!
this is great for me-- i got 10 clicks in one day, i usually get 10 clicks in a week if im lucky. i know that im smart priced right now, but am i going to be able to pull my self out of it if i maintain a CTR above 1%?
ive also increase my traffic about 50 percent from twittering, and submitting to directories.
does anyone else have any simple traffic tips that a noob might not know about?

I've used seepeeaylead in the past. All it does for me is make people not want to go to the page. I sure don't.

Looks like his page was pulled down due to DMCA complaints. How does one avoid these types of complaints?
