Hopefully this will give some of you hard working guys some ideas.

My methodology with my web sites is to choose topics with which I am familiar and they are typically business, finance and employment.

You make real good money with business and finance KWs in adsense but employment doesn't pay all that well but if you get a lot of traffic and you place your ads correctly you'll do OK.

I generally interlink my sites so I get crossover traffic from similar/same niches and that is nice as you get a chance to make money off the same visitor on several sites.

The other day I was checking a KW because the traffic from some of my sites was a little unusual... one that got most of the traffic was a little light and 2 others that were "ancillary" sites picked up some.

I google XYZ jobs (these are employment sites) and Lo and behold, I have 4 spots on the first page with 3 different sites.

Think about that; 40% of the organic real estate was mine on page 1 of Google for this one KW phrase that has About 9,860,000 results (0.16 seconds) when you enter it in the search box.

You do not need to make sure that your site has the top position in Google if you have 40% of the organic real estate and that is not so hard to achieve... all you do is get one ranked, build another one and use unique content and do similar things you did to get the first one ranked.

Build a network of similar sites with similar KWs and do all the right things to get them ranked, interlink them and put some extra cash in your pockets.

Are these sites hosted on the same IP? Are the domains registered with the same whois info?

    Thanks,

These three happen to be all registered with the same whois info and are hosted with the same company.

Very true indeed. People tend to build a site, get it to #1 or close to it and that's it. They don't realize that they can do the same exact thing and rank another, similar site with the same KW to tap into those extra clicks. Position #1 only gets a % of clicks and the main reason is the description that G is showing them. Fill out your description meta tag as clean and as informative as possible. Tell them what they will expect to get from your site, try to get into their head and just think about why people are searching for that keyword. Keep in mind that you can't please all of the people all of the time so when you build site 2, go with a different angle within the same niche.

    Example, Acai Berry:

Site 1 you talk about how Acai Berry is good for you, yada, yada, yada... Your description also says some good things and may start out like "Acai Berry is a great...".

Site 2 you talk about the downside to acai berry and your description starts with something like, "Side effect from acai berry can range from ...". Now with this site, you don't put acai berry down, unless you market some alternative to acai berry. Don't talk it down to make them change their mind, you just be informative and use a rebuttle against you saying it is bad... example: it is bad because it doesn't work but it does work because of your mentality tricks your body yada, yada, yada. Bad example but, the point is you still have that sales pitch to build up to the call to action.

Now what this will do is, get clicks to site 1 from people that are all about acai berry and pumped to get it, heard good things and don't care about the bad shit because they want to lose weight. You will also get clicks on site 2 from people that are skeptical about it because of "side effects" or harmfulness that may come from using it.

Corect me if i'm wrong, but you are building 2 way backlinks?

    For example :

    google1.com link to google2.com and google2.com link to google1.com ?

Thanks for sharing, I thougth it might be a good strategy but you just confirmed.

I do have links on some of my sites linking to other related sites if that is the question.

Of course I use anchor text in articles on my site so it looks good to all parties (bots and visitors).

I have a similar experience with an off line client of mine. He has a service business and one of his services is staining decks. I built him 6 small deck staining sites over the winter and this year he has used more than 2k gallons of deck stain. One of his customers made this comment:

"We were looking for someone to stain our deck and we kept finding you so we did not even bother calling anyone else."

Works well for local SEO customers. These 6 sites were in addition to the main site that lists all his services.

Did you make it look like a review site of a happy customer or just plain deck staining sites that promotes the main site?
If torn between the two.. Thanks!

Im not sure but isn't this the shortest way to get Google penalize all website? I think the biggest footprint here is similar niche with internal linking.

Just my thought, I still see a network like this and they are still high in search engine for each site's targeted keyword. One more thing is that contents in this network seems to be written by an expert in that area.

No, this does not leave a footprint as the interlinking I do is very random. I don't link all sites together and they all do not link to one main site as that would leave a footprint.

    Bass,

I've got three sites in the same niche, one is bringing me customers, the others aren't SEO'd yet. Been planning on doing this, and perhaps a couple additional review sites as well.

Do you hide that the websites are owned by the same person? How long have they been interconnected? I'd be worried about G noticing the relationship and penalizing them.

How are you making the deck staining sites different? I assume they're different without much content duplication?

I don't have any privacy on them at all so if someone were to look they would see that they are owned by Mrs. BTB, one of my LLCs or myself.

They have been interconnected for several years with no problems.
