So lets say that I have 5 niches that are not related to each other
(ex. fast cars, healthy nutrition, seo tools etc)

Is it better to create different domains for each of them or by creating 5 subdomains in a domain
would not be a problem in the eye of G in terms of SEO?

In other words, will i rank better for fastcars.example.com or fastcars.com If I use the same seo strategy for both of them?

This depends greatly on the main domain name ... and the diversity of the subdomain niches ..

However, broadly speaking your always better off with individual domains and from individual servers...

If I were you, I would go for the domains and not for the sub domains, mainly because big G treats every subdomain as a separate site, therefore it would be no use. Moreover, it's more likely for a reader to keep in mind the name of a site instead of the name of a sub domain.
    Just my 2 cents.
