Multiple Sites in Same Niches

Im starting 5 sites in same niche, All wordpress, with different themes and targeting different keywords.

I'm using same plugins on all sites.

Not interlinking them in any ways, Except they are all on SAME host and SAME ip.

Any suggestions / Precautions That I should follow?

You should be fine, as long as the content is completely unique from each other and you don't crosslink.

If you do decide to crosslink, do it with different c class ips.
 
Exactly! As long as your content is unique there should not be a problem.
Dominate your competition and demolish the first page!
 
Yea, the content will be unique. No Plans of interlinking them.

But what if the backlinks came from same set of sites - bookmarks, wikis, profiles?

I would strongly suggest not using the same backlinking methods for every website. I would try to mix things up and be fairly unique, to avoid footprints.

If all your websites have the same backlinks coming from the same sources is going to be very suspicious and unnatural.

Ive never had any problems doing this, but it could be something google might look into in the future, so maybe try to limit.

Ive personally purchased links going to the same set of sites from different domains with no penalties.
 
All my sites are in the same niche - 1 big one targetting everything in the niche, and various smaller one's targetting sub-niches.

If you can pull it off you can own the first page. I've got some searches where I have 6-8 listings on page #1. We run them as different businesses with different ABN's (aussies will understand), although at 35K for the travel licence they all operate under the main sites licence.

It's funny when you're competing against yourself with big quotes.
