I am running with this thought that when in a few months a website gains authority, it is much easier to sell in multiple niches which is why I prefer having one authority type website and focus on ranking one silo at a time.

Whereas everyone I know is creating one niche sites and they will create 2-3 a month and rank them then flip them off.

What exactly is better? I would rather work on one website and take it to $10k a month in a couple of years then flip it off for a big pay day rather then working on multiple small websites. What do you think?

Multiple small sites are probably a much safer bet as with 1 big one anything could change and you would then be left with no money. I would go for multiple small any day but at the end of the day it's up to you and what you think is the best. Be careful with the niche you choose though if it's a big one as if you choose pokemon go for example the hype will die eventually.

Both have its own pros and cons. But if the website is going to have backlinks (and blackhat or greyhat ones at that), then it would be better off to maintain multiple sites in different micro niches instead of a single site in multiple niches.

If you are going to rank the website purely based on content and organic links (probably 1500-2000 words of content for each page), then it might be wise to create a single site with SILOs for each micro niche. If you create backlinks and any of your competitor in any of those niches report you, keep in mind that your whole investment in time and money would be lost as the whole site would be probably penalized including the various micro niches.

Yeah I didn't think about that, that's a scary thought. I think going micro will really be the best option right now as I plan to use PBN's to rank them.

Definitely multiple sites - much more redundancy so if one gets hit the others aren't affected.

Also, a single site can easily be built and sold off, whereas a big silo'd site is a big project, takes longer etc so it's technically got to be higher risk.
