Multiple domains and SEO

Hello

I have jst started a new website, and obviously purchased the business name as the main domain.
I have also purchased variations/misspellings of the business name too.
Further, I have purchased a couple of descriptive/keyword domains that dont have the business name in.

My question is how and what is the best way to use the other domains? At the moment i have set them to point to a folder on the main domain (/redirect) that has a nice logo and text saying it is redirecting to the main page. Is this good/bad?

What is the best way I can help (if possible) my SEO?
Also, what is the "proper" way of managing this without damaging my SEO?

If you already own these domains you can host some blogs there and link to your main site.

You can try to add your additional domains to directories etc....then, after some time, when it's linked enough, 301 redirect to main site, so your main site gets all the juice.

so u mean have different content on them, but relevant, that have links to main...? i see...
tbh i cant really be asked, i would rather 301 them now....

is what i am doing now hindering my seo? (ie) pointing the other domain to mainwebsite.com/redirect that has a nice pic, logo etc and redirects to mainwebsite.com in 3 seconds...?
