Does anyone here use adcenter much? I have run a couple of campaigns and receive very little impressions with them, let alone clicks.

I am thinking of going back to adwords, but the cpc is just so high there. Anyone tried them both and how did they compare?

    Thanks!

I have heard that Yahoo is very good as an alternative to Adwords.

thats because the MSN adcenter doesn't exactly target a lot their pubcenter is still US Only and for US Only traffic ... if they opened it up worldwide things would be different i run pubcenter now, and i gotta say the way their ads are a lot better than google's i mean backgrounds textures, gradients all kinds of nice things on the pubcenter but US only kinda sucks.... and no backup code i mean they allow backup image but no backup code like adsense :(

    i use adcenter a lot.
it sucks that it doesnt get as much traffic as i do with my adwords ads, because i get much better roi with adcenter.

even though i hate microsoft, i really hope their search starts making gains on google.
im really starting to hate google, they seem to frown upon ANY thing that looks like an advertisers site is out to make money. but yet, they expect the advertisers to PAY to be listed and make it very hard with all their rules and slaps, etc to make the ad money back for advertisers.

i dont get their logic, they expect people to PAY for ads, but yet, they don't want any monetization done for us to earn money off it. its only a matter of time before some other company knocks them down a bit and advertisers jump ship to them to get better returns for the $

I had microsoft call me and go over my ad with me. Kinda caught me off guard!

So it sounds like you have to use adwords to get more traffic but adcenter might give a better ROI?

I guess I will have to try and get longer keywords to hopefully lower the price on adwords.

    thanks for the help guys!

I recently applied a $50 voucher I had to msn and I was pleasantly surprised. 960 impressions, 48 clicks, and 14 conversions straight to a cpa offer. all within about an hour too. lol.

i deposited another $200 and got similar results. adwords gets me clicks to my cpa offer, but hardly any conversions. actually lost $200 over a week. made it all back and then some with msn. I think msn delivers traffic that has credit cards.

I use AdCenter and have found that my impressions are lower, but my conversions are higher than with AdSense. I'm assuming that this is because there is less competition and a higher percentage of users on Bing/MSN are shoppers. But the latter is just a theory I pulled out of my ass.

Has anyone tried doing any CPA with AdCenter? Would it even be worth it given the typical $1.00-$2.00 payouts for CPA ads? -Afallison answered...thanks.

LE: Noticed that Afallison answered my question before I asked it. DOH!

In general, Adcenter blows because the traffic is about 5-10% of Google. The CPC's aren't even that much cheaper for a lot of niches. It's also tough to manage because there's no way to do a bulk bid adjust unless it's through a rep.

On the other hand, it's easy to import your Google campaigns in and if you're looking for incremental conversions, you'll definitely get them.

Also keep in mind that MSN is taking over all of Yahoo search. First they're going to power organic, then in about 1.5 years, they'll power SEM. What that means, I don't know...just sayin.
