Mr Steal your Instagram account?

And i did receive a link. I received the link via sms, twice. One from "Facebook" and one from "SMSInfo"

The link is https://ig.me/4h4orjdoe4jsblablabla

So the scam is i send the link, he chamges the password, steals my account.

I gotta say, im really tired right now and for a split second there i almost went ahead and sent him the link.

Good thing i wasnt born yesterday. Its been at least 2 weeks since i was born and during that time i learned much

Anyway, take care guys. And go fuck yourself scammer thieving pieces of shit. Get cancer, drop dead.

Whats fucked up is that the name of his insta account is very similar to the name of one of my customers. Thats why i replied to begin with, as i was already in bed almost asleep.

But he has a decent scam going. Someone kind and gullible, or unaware, may have sent it to him.

This has been going around for a while now. The best ones will hack a friends account and then DM you from that. I know like 2-3 people that I follow that hit me up like that in the past year. It's pretty obvious they're hacked when a dude your best friend fought randomly reaches out and is like "hey" lol... I knew it wasn't to sell me Arbonne. It's unbelievable people fall for this.

Never mind, I just checked. Email, phone, or username can be used.

Email and phone are fine, as they're not public (unless you make them public or they get obtained via other means). But with the username you can run this scam for days man.

And good luck contacting Instagram and getting your account back after it's stolen from you. These companies are ghosts man.

I don't think he got my number.

I think how it works is, you contact someone on Instagram via DM with the story, and then you initiate a password recovery using their Instagram username.

They get the password recovery link, and send it to you.

You change the password, and now you can login to their Instagram account and do whatever you want with it.

That's what I think anyway...

The average person doesn't have an option but once you spend $$$$$$ on ads you get a contact in the US that you work directly with for all issues. You also get a standing weekly Zoom meeting with them to resolve all issues.

Their support caters to customers. Users are the product, not the customers. The customers are ad buyers.

I think he just straight up went to Instagram password recovery page, entered my username, and clicked submit. Instagram sent me the link. Easy peasy

Common way people steal accounts. They become you for a moment. But you're right if that were the case they'd have the link.
