Why doesn't Mozilla focus on more important things when it comes to Firefox?

Was trying to use the "Clear All History" tool and couldn't find it because they moved it to the history tab.

    Idiots!

They are to focused on new versions without focusing on the basics, it used to be a new version every year, but now its almost every 2 or 3 months.

I'm more pissed off the update so often that my enterprise version of robo tools wont work with FF v22 and I had to dumb down my system to FF v21.
Its getting so bad even extensions cant keep up with FF's ever lasting updates.

Personally, I have reverted all the way back to a complete fresh install of FF v6.0 and other then the layout, I see no difference in performance or anything

also, did you know they purposely override websites ability to have their own personal message pop up when one tries to leave a page and FF's own popup happens "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?"

There are reasons I wish to not have that onbeforeunload happen, when I do surveys, but apparently there is no way to stop it, that I found.
I have tried numerous javascript codes in greesemonkey and none will stop that event.

basically some GPT surveys are set to only credit a small percent of completions and a trick to guarantee it will credit is using the FF addon "reloadall" but its pointless to use because the onbeforeunload event interrupts the addon from working its magic.

However, I have some friends that claim they do not get that onbeforeunload event.
Any idea on how to prevent the event from happening?

Back a few years ago I remember reading an article about how Firefox was going to start releasing new versions every year to catch up with some of the other browsers. Apparently Firefox was "losing out" because of the version number. It was quite an interesting article too bad I can't find it. It was written before they started playing this numbers game.

Not sure what you're experiencing but I've got a feeling you need to go to "Tools > Content > JavaScript Advanced" and uncheck "Disable or replace context menus".

For people moaning about the software updates being too frequent, without these updates you'd be using a buggy and exploitable browser - I'll take security over a little convenience any day.

For people moaning about the software updates being too infrequent, go grab them from mozilla-central, daily or even hourly updates to FireFox pretty much all year round.

Just to make it clear, I wasn't "moaning" about the software updates being too frequent. I was moaning about pointless changes. Security is one, changing certain things is another. The "tools" menu was a good place to keep the "Clear All History" button which doesn't only clear history.

That wasn't directed at you...I actually had exactly the same issue a few days ago and was very confused myself.

I hear you. Incognito or private browsing mode doesn't save any urls, usage history, cookies or passwords, nothing at all. And so your wife won't find out.

I should have been more clear, sorry
I did what you said and it didn't help.
    I already have the "tools/options/advanced/ "
"warn when sites try to redirect", unchecked.

Friends of mine can refresh the tab w/o getting the popups I get.
Makes no sense they can use the addon (reload all) and I cant
    I get these two popups

actually, I felt the same way but there are addons that greatly improve chrome's "friendlyness"

the bottom one "extension" opens chromes extensions from the right click menu

sad that whoever designed chrome, did a horrible job with the bookmarks and history feature
but "one access" and "dropdown menu" changes that :)

I felt the same way when they removed it from the Tools bar! Why would they do that?

It seems to me that lately they're focusing more on changing versions and moving things around than any other thing :(
    I still use it, though.

of all the one million and five browsers that I have ever used, k-meleon was by far my favorite, lightning fast and you could do three times more work when compared to any other browser, then they stopped updating it 3 years ago ... now I have to do with mediocre creations like chrome
