This is my deal. I've been renting the place I'm in now for a few years and just recently got into blackhatting. Getting this house was no problem for me (private owner, no companies) but now that I've quit my job and plan on making money online ONLY and as a blackhatter, how do I get rental companies/property management companies to even give me a chance with no "job"?

I'm not ready to move for a couple years, but should I have some other whitehat business to show them where I make my income?

I was thinking of using some online service like confidential access to fake paystubs or something. They should be back up and running by then.

I know some of you guys/girls must have gone through this before.

    Advice?

you should still be declaring what u earn whether it's blackhat or not! It's still online business, you just put yourself down as an advertising company or something. You never have to reveal your sources of where that money comes from, thats one thing you should always remember!! Think of your cpa networks!! lol

Remember to set yourself up self employed and record all outgoings etc etc do it all properly like a proper business :)

Look at it like this, Walmart dont tell u where they get their stock do they and how much etc etc.

Hmmm well yeah just get a professional looking aged website and make it look like a service, or even incorporate it too.

I guess I should try to find my damn EIN. I got one last year sometime but hardly ever use it. Instead of putting down my social security number on the apps, just use the EIN.

I wonder if that would work..hmm. Thanks for the input..now my mind is working.

You could always talk to Uptownbulker about setting up an anonymous corporation, and get paid by that corporation as a self-employed consultant. You run all your business through the corp, which people don't get to look at, but you have a legitimate income stream from a business. (If you want, you can set up something through paychex or whatever and autopay yourself out of the bank accounts b/c you are on 'retainer'.) Now you have paystubs, and income.

The other thing you have to remember though, is that $ talks. If you pay upfront for a year or something like that, rental places will give you a discount and won't question whether or not you will be able to pay.

this is if you are in the US

if your doing really well with BH you can probably buy a house and not bother with renting! In order to get a mortgage you are going to have to show at least 2 years of tax info whilst being self employed, the companies paying you will give you a 1099 which will indicate how much you have made over the year, just declare your income to the IRS as normal and as graphicnut said if anyone ask your an internet marketing consultant or similar, i think a nice website to follow up wouldnt be such a bad idea... and a set of business cards although i dont think its 100% necessary.

I forget to add get yourself a DBA from your city hall, and set up a business account at the bank... also get yourself an EIN for your business from the IRS, make sure all your money gets paid into your business account, and that any expenses ie web hosting, domain name purchasing, income etc comes out of this business account too and get quickbooks to keep track of everything... makes life so much easier!
