I am moving from FL to Los Angeles for work. I visited there once when I went to my new office. Now I need to move and am really confused and was wondering if any people here local to the area could point me in the right direction. Without getting in to too much detail I want to be in downtown or hollywood, so I can walk most places. However, I am totally not interested in paying 5k a month for a comparable place to what I have here. So I am stuck looking for somewhere under $1200 (studio is perfect and preferably including utilities) and I am shocked by the fact that simple things such as a refrigerator, oven and stove are not standard amenities! I rent a 3bdr 2bath house for half of what I want to pay for a studio or loft there. I couldn't help but LOL This is serious. Anyone know of any good sources of finding reasonable priced living besides cl, apartmentscom forrentcom etc? I'd like to think I'm not that picky I do have a super nice car that I would want some sort of secure parking for within walking distance, a fridge, stove, and windows that open (it seems apparent that a washer and dryer in the unit is out of the question) LOL. Preferably walking distance to night life as the last thing I want is to get a dui and go to jail in los angeles. IMO it's not asking that much... Anyway, any fellow black hatters local or were previously could steer me in the right direction?
