If i had unique content on my homepage for a few months and then decided i would like to change this content and then move it to an internal page, would there be any problems with duplicate content?

So for example i will call the original content "old content" and this has been on my homepage for a few months and then move "old content" to /oldcontent.html. Then back on homepage i now have "newcontent"

    Does that make sense?

It's fine so long as the content does not appear in both locations. In the event there is a true need to have content in both places I'd highly advise using Canonical Meta data.
