'...750,000 television spots, 5000 movie trailers. Guess we can assume he's worth as much as some movie-stars. I have done professional radio and video voice-overs but couldn't come close to his tone, even after changing the pitch digitally or slowing down the replay. I can usually do the script in one take though...lol (Sounds easy - You try reading advertising text and getting it absolutely within the allotted time of 15 or 20 seconds, on the button. And if you can do it so the engineers don't have to remove the 'breaths' they love you). Official website: Code: http://www.donlafontaine.com/DLF2007/index.html themagician
That guy is amazing! He goes from gig to gig in cheauffered limo and nearly always does his voice overs in a single take! He is very well paid. I want his job.
It's a very lucrative field, I've thought about going into it for character voices. I'm a huge fan of Peter Sellers. Here's more of Don and his cohorts... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQRtuxdfQHw Here is Pablo Francisco doing an AMAZING impersonation of Don (I'm surprised Don doesn't sue for trademark infringement) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPBvFXf9Q2U
