I'm planning on making a website, in the movie niche. But I don't have a clue on how I can go "legit"

Basically, I'm not planning on showing the actual movies, I'm not going to upload on MegaVide0 and post it on my site and then add a content locker...

I'm thinking on making a review site about movies, you can say that it's like IMDB but on a simpler scale, just ratings, short review, comment section.

If possible, what do I have to do for me to be able to put Ad$en$e ads on my site without breaking their copyright and TOS?

Is there any affiliate sites out there which offers a widget or something that shows movies and dvd?

Obviously my best bet to get visitors to stay at my site is by embedding official trailers from official channels on youtube to my site and posting the movie cover/poster.

Will posting the movie cover/poster violate copyrights?

Sorry if my post seems to jump from point to point :)

I highly doubt you would get away with doing that and using adsense. Content locker is a better bet to monitize it.

One problem you might run into if your site becomes popular and doing a lot of traffic with a lot of people watching movies linked from your site is coming up against the Movie Industry. They have big legal teams and big bucks to throw at lawsuits against sites who are sharing their films, even indirectly (afterall, that was always the defense of the torrent sites; "we don't host any copyrighted material"). Even if you are only providing text links instead of actually showing the MegaVideo player in your site, I'm sure it would ruffle a few feathers.

Your site would have to be massive though before those behemoths batted an eyelid I reckon, but it is a possibility.

No guys, I am not going to create a free movies site. I was planning on being an affiliate for dvd vendors? Or something? I want to go at it in a legit way. Maybe I should just make the site into a "movie trailer site" Basically I'm going to embed official trailers from official channel from youtube into my post. By doing this, can I still use ad$en$e?

I'm not planning on breaking any copyrights since I am NOT going to provide movies or links to free movie websites.

Ah, I see, sorry...my mistake...I'm sorry, I cant help you with adsense, I dont know enough about their terms. You could use amazon too though, just put a link to the dvd in your detail page with the trailer description etc.

Its definitely a great idea for a site, and I would go with it, whether you can get adsense or not you would still be able to monetize it with other affiliate programs.

I wish you the best of luck :)
