I have been reading this forums for the past month or so and I read some amazing journeys
about people going from complete noobs to IM wizards. I am overwhelmed by all of this information
and I can't seem to start at something. I keep telling myself I am going to start tomorrow or next week,
but when the time comes, I tell myself I can't do this because I don't have this software,
or I don't have that skill, or this start up money.

I think it's motivation since I have a history of doing nothing if I don't have a guaranteed or tangible
return. If I see a guaranteed return, I will work hard as hell on it. In high school, I would cheat on tests
and exams and charge each person $20 up front. I didn't think it would work but I saw that people
were paying. I started to test out some cheating methods and believe me, I was a wizard at cheating
by the end of high school and was making hundreds. This stuff obviously doesn't fly now.

That saying, I think I need some motivation. Can you guys give me some personal stories of how
you made your first $100 on the internet?

For me personally, money is the motivation. I tried and failed, tried and failed, tried and failed...until I eventually started making a little bit of money. Once I saw that money really could be made with IM, that's all the motivation I needed.

Everybody wants to be successful but, percentage wise, hardly anybody gets there. The only difference between these two groups is that the successful people did what needed to be done by taking action, and the other group of people talked about taking action.

OP, this seem like another tactic to get out of taking your first step.
I have never really understood how people get motivated by what others are earning.

    Here is the best motivation:
    1. Sign in to your online Bank Account/PayPal
    2. Do you see a 1 followed by lots of zeros?
    3. If not then time to start working.

If you really need to hear what other people have done then read The Journey section or look below:

Also remember that this place has its fair share of bullshitters, do you get motivated by bullshit?

    Good Luck

I don't really need any motivation, IMO motivation is shit and only gets you so far. What helped me was having a realistic goal, being consistent and having a positive/forward attitude.

Just find a method that has been "proven" to work and take consistently take action. Once you take action you'll most likely find success after some time.

What I personally started with was Youtube + CPA, I started making some good money after only a 2 months of some minor success and a lot of failing.

I'm the same. Honestly I probably never would've went anywhere when I first started if it wasn't out of sheer boredom. I had some legal problems and was completely sober - no drugs or even beer - for the first time since I was a kid. I think I made like $1.50 on AdSense my first month (I had done some affiliate stuff when I was like 12-13 and made around $500 a month, this was like 1999 or something though so obviously it didn't work anymore - anyone remember hotline file sharing?). I probably would've given up but it became my new addiction, checking traffic/ranking/earnings stats was fun and I was bored as fuck since everyone I knew partied all the time.

I do have similar problems still in life, I have a hard time starting new projects and sometimes wont work for 3-6 months until I start going broke and then am only motivated by not having cash to get high and eat out and go to bars and vacation and things I like doing so I get going again.

TL;DR - Its a personality thing I think, best of luck but some people just aren't motivated. If you can treat it like a game and have fun that's what worked for me to get started.

I could be wrong, but from your post OP, I sense that you may be afraid of failing. You just have to realize that failing is a part of being an entrepreneur, and really the only way to succeed at something is to fail many times at first. Just start something to collect data, see how it works, and go from there.

Literally anyone can and will work hard when they know there will be a return. That doesn't differentiate you from anybody.

If you can find the returns where others don't see them, and if you can make returns when it wasn't clear there was a chance before, then you're onto something.

You don't need motivation, you need to get out of your self-love and get out more and get working. A few failures would help you a lot.

Lol @ Irv Gotti upselling Jay-Z in that whole video. Ridiculously fake, look at his movements and gestures.

There's no problem with modest living, I honestly would be happy as hell with $70,000/year.

Then again to each is own, am I right?

Irv just looks up to him a lot.

And yes you are right - I wasn't materialistic a few years ago but now it's all I think about. I hated cold cuts a few years ago but now I love a nice cold cut sandwich. Some people don't change but I think we are supposed to change through life. Growing and developing is changing.

Not everyone wants to be rich and that's fine. I've seen so many miserable rich people. It's truly a blessing to have money especially when you have worked for it but it is not the end all of a journey.
