So that people can find the most valuable posts made on this forum maybe there should be a page like the current statistics page but for most thanked posts?

Just an idea, not thought about any flaws so don't bash me if I have missed out something stupid about this idea lol.

Yeah it's been suggested before, but afaik it's not possible, unless there's a 3rd party vb plugin I'm unaware of.

Most views would come back with things like the secret submit method and the viral script which are BST threads and there for the support mainly rather than greatness of the post.
 
I don't think it serves any really useful role. There are countless useless download threads with loads of thanks on them. There are also some crazily useful posts with barely a few.

I mean there's a thread at the moment with an affiliate link, which is supposed to be a download link, that goes to a sales page for glorified spyware, yet there are thanks from people who must do it on impulse?! Thanks and thanked stats are pretty meaningless in my opinion, what are we IJ?

Even if we had a "Find most thanked posts" button, people wouldn't really find the most useful posts, but loads of WSOs and DP sales. I think they'll still find the most useful posts by reading, as i said there are some gems with almost no thanks. :D

P.S. This wasn't a flame or bash on the op, just stating my opinion on the value of those stats. xxx
 
It's a neat idea, but I think the thread rater is very helpful in itself.
 
I disagree with those that don't see the inherent value in thanked posts. Methods to make money from other members is surely the holy grail but downloads are also useful if you are still ignorant to its contents.

The trick is to find a member whom you think is smart from reading a post you stumbled onto, then go and read thier thanked posts located in his/her member profile.

Not really, many post Money Making methods and get thanked like crazy, or offer a small free service, in fact, I doubt downloads will make up 50% of the posts that have been thanked a lot.
 
So we still don't have any filter for checking most thanked threads
