I know about celebrities, artist, athletes, ect. But people that dont get alot of thought when it comes to being overpaid is youtube. There are new videos that are popping up called Vlogs. Basically people record what they do on a daily basis and has short 10-20 minute videos showing part of their day.

Some of these vlogs have 500k-1 million views. Or how about these stupid challenge videos that show a youtuber performing a dumb challenge. Or how about gamers that record gameplay from a game that gets millions of views. These guys are making 6-7 figures a year just off youtube and alot of them sell t-shirts or promote stuff. Even these unboxing videos. Im sure some of you have heard about the anonymous youtuber who happened to be the highest paid and netted about 6 million dollars in 2014 for unboxing disney toys. Im not complaining, these people are geniuses. They make a stupid amount of money posting ridiculous videos. I want in and im thinking about starting one. Im not sure what though. I kind of want to remain anonymous. Because I dont want to start putting myself on the internet doing ridiculous things, and then never get big or succeed in youtube.

If I knew my channel could blow up I wouldnt have a problem but it seems difficult to grow. Unless you go viral.

I wouldnt mind starting some unboxing channel that unboxes unique, rare items. Ive been told I have a humorous unique personality some maybe even a daily talk show kind of thing. Again there goes my anonymity. Pranking would be cool but it seems like you can get yourself in trouble or sued.

Another idea I had was starting a channel about breaking random stuff in random ways. While it may not be smart sharing my ideas I would like feedback because I really believe the whole success on youtube thing is your personality. You cant be an average joe, you have to be unique in some way. Whether thats looks and you got a crazy haircut or your personality, in my opinion.

im not sure if we have any big youtubers here. But if you could give advice that would be great. I would even consider working with other people who want to get into youtube and help each other out.

I dont know anything about editing. But ive been really considering doing this the last few months. Some of the biggest youtubers like, fousey, vitaly and romanatwood all started their channels about 4-5 years ago. Look how big they are now. Im sure they were saying the same thing I was right now.

What do you think? Anyone have ideas? Would you want to remain anonymous or go public?

My advice is that you forget about remaining anonymous. It's just a fear that's holding you back. Go big or go home!

    Best of Luck

I'd say YouTube is overcrowded and you would have to bring a something really unique to get big (filming expensive lifestyle, interesting or crazy personality, well, or random crazy shit that internet loves and it should be all done in high quality). The guys you see now are big because they grew together with YouTube. I think most YouTubers that are big today would not make it if they had to start all over without any fans. Just really heavy competition. You are not the first one who saw what Top YouTubers earn, actually, most of the viewers knows this fact. By the way, nobody will hand out you great ideas, they would put them to use themselves if they had any. Advice? - Good video editing and quality with even more great content depending on the subject you choose.

What about a channel with a bunch of random stuff? Pranks, vlogs, Gameplay, Talking about topics, Doing crazy stuff ( like racing) (or destroying a tv in a unique way).

I do disagree about the "if youtubers that are big today had to restart they wouldnt be big"

I think if you bring quality content that people want to watch you will get big. Ultimately it seems like you need to have a viral video or multiple to get big.

IDK maybe youtube isnt for me. It just seems awesome that these people film videos and get paid big bucks.

Then thats just the start, several big youtubers are starting to get deals and tv shows.

I forgot his name but there is this new program that pays youtubers hundreds of thousands of dollars to post their videos to the site first and wait a few days before they post to their channel.

Its just amazing. There are so many views to go around. That yes youtube has lots of competition, but at the same time their are so many people that use youtube.
