Most English-speaking natives on BHW are from UK?

It feels like a large % of native english-speakers on BHW are from the UK area.

Just curious if you also think this is true?

What cultural differences between usa and UK could cause this phenomenon (that UK people might be more internet savvy than americans in general) in your opinion ?

USA population is about 5x bigger than UK, so why aren't there 5x more americans than british on BHW.

Maybe USA is extra college oriented with more families against IM. Maybe theres more poor people in USA without access to computers. Maybe Americans enjoy exercise too much and loathe computers.

I'm from a small farm town in midwest USA where i have never heard anyone speak of IM in real life

@noNoYesYes Why be judgemental when you are new?

And @Minnehaha the tone matters. So, don't go instigating riots. If it's a suggestion, keep it as such, but don't say that people are poor, because they are not in a specific forum, without solid evidence. That makes you sound like a racist.

Just because someone is from the UK, doesn't mean they're native speakers.
 
My guesses would be:
1. Bigger city = rat race in everyday life = more competition in everything = more thinking how to outsmart the already smart guys out there
2. Higher average salary = better tech integration in everyday life
3. The popularity of vlogs & bloggers.
4. Greed = wanting to have an easy life (slower paced/ more time for myself thing)
 
And don't forget the randomness. If I'd not have come across BHW for some reason I'd have never heard about it most likely. I don't know about anyone of my friends who knows about it.

Fun fact is that sometimes foreigners have better level of English than actual natives. Or at least use more sophisticated language.
