Hey everyone,

I have a dedicated server running Windows 2008 R2 and am having a little issue with it. I need to allow more than two people to login to it at the same time but the maximum number of connections I am allowed is 2.

I found a thread on another forum that says i need the product: "Remote Desktop Services Windows User Client Access License 2008 R2 Windows 1 Client (S) License Only" to increase the maximum number of connections to above 2.

The product can be found here: http://www.provantage.com/microsoft-6vc01164~1350303386.htm

Now I'm a total noob when it comes to this type of stuff, is this the product i should get? will it be easy for a noob like me to install?

any help is much appreciated :)

Thanks!

You have to buy an additional license for the Windows Server OS, which when installed allows you to connect more than 2 connections at the same time. There is no other way of doing this. There were some hacks and patches but are too complicated to install and the results may not be good.

there are a hundred ways of doing this.

quick easy fix....

set up a PC (any even your own your typing on now) with VNC server.
enable multi user view so lots of people can view the PC.
Connect to your Dedicated server using RDP,RDC, or however else you do it.(from the PC your on now)

Done now you can have as many people as u like sign onto your dedi

try this universal-termsrvdll-patch. Should allow you to break the number of simultaneous connection

Oh GOD I am having such a bad flashback having to deal with SQL licenses...

....And that's why every server I use now is Linux, yaaaaay

Thank you everyone for the responses and help, much appreciated :)
