    Hey,

I just noticed that viral websites are trying to make people do as many pageviews as possible.

For example mylikes does so, they create a list "The 15 most underrated celebs ever",

and they split it to 15 pages each one with one picture and a next button.

Do you think this way the revenue is higher than if you display all 15 pictures at once?

At least the session duration will be higher, because it takes more time to click 15x times and wait for the page to load,

    than to do it once.

It helps for retention, in theory. Whenever I see one of these sites, I leave it and look for a "15 list" on one page. But that's just me. I'd imagine that quite a few people would click the button, 14 times. Indirectly, it may help with earnings, as since they're keeping people on their sites for longer bouts of time, and so Google may give their rankings a boost.... maybe. Similarly, I'm sure Google knows about these types of sites, and perhaps don't reward them for tricking their visitors into clicking and clicking and clicking and clicking and clicking, because they cannot find exactly what they want. For all I know, they could be geting punished by the SERPs. Who knows. Test it.

Hm okay, that sounds interesting. Maybe I will try it, too. But it is really annoying for a visitor.

It helps a lot to split it into 15 pages. First of all, you get 14 more page views than you normally would, which means that they get to show you a lot more ads than you would see if you just visited one page. That way they increase the amount of views on their ads, and they also increase the chance of you being interested in one of the ads. I believe it also helps with ranking, so it's definitely an effective way of boosting things.

OP banned now, but yes, the site will earn more from more pageviews if they are displaying CPM ads.
