Monthly/weekly roundup articles?

Do these help or hurt SEO? I like to run a little bit of a program where I highlight some news in the related field of my niche sites and usually hit 3-5 topics and give a paragraph summary. Anyone know how this fairs? It's real hand written content, not spun or anything like that but it's just a nice little synopsis of weekly events.

Sounds like a solid plan to me. If it's real, un-spun, unique content, it should bring some good results.

It seems like you're taking the most relevant, trending topics of your niche, and summarizing them, which helps in multiple ways: Constant updates of quality content to your site in addition to being highly relevant to your niche and what others are searching for.

Thanks for the reply, I hope so! I was just worried if google was thinking this was "thin" content or keyword stuffing across the board because it hits a bunch of different subjects.

This is possibly why you ought to focus on cursing content that creates a voice. Other than that, the plan is rock solid.

I do monthly/bimonthly roundups of my own posts, not even doing external links.
I like it for SEO purposes, plus they are great for sharing on social media.

I see no issue with doing a Roundup of relevant niche news.

If the content is original you should have no problem. If you're picking content up from somewhere else then make sure to link out to it as a reference.
