I just got to thinking about different layouts since someone mentioned something in another thread.

I have about 9 targeted keywords for my niche (more but 9 of the best). I was thinking of writing one article per keyword for the site.

Now someone else was talking about how they just do one landing page on the money site and have an article for each of the lesser keywords on the web 2.0's pointing to the money site.

I like the idea of having just one presell page as it seems it would be more focused then. what are advantages/disadvantages to this in other's opinion?

Could I still do SEO for the page on the other keywords with only one article?

I.e. would just putting anchor text in other sites with link to money site suffice for doing SEO for those keywords or do those specific keywords have to be on the actual money site somewhere?

If I just wanted the presell one page format could I stuff all 9 of my keywords into the one presell rather than having 9 articles?

I guess if I were to do that I might as well just have 9 separate articles cos then it would look less 'salesy' and more like a content blog.

Do the keywords have to be in the 1st few hundred words of an article or does it not matter where in the article they are placed for the engines to acknowledge them?

    Thoughts?

Depends on what your site is about? If you are promoting some kind of CPA/Aff product, then stick with a static homepage optimized for SEs. But keep adding unique content on regular basis to get crawled.

If its like a blog offering information and monetized with adsense etc, then use the default blog setting i.e. 10 latest posts on homepage with their excerpts.

    Hope it helps.
    Cheers.

    Home Page:
CPA or not CPA it is all about offer. I have a one page pre-sell sites with
autoblog in background for one CPA offer and an informational site with a
lot of posts for another CPA offer. Both offers are in the same niche. Both
work well. On the second one I have separate articles for separate keywords
SEO optimized (keyword in first and last paragraph).

You also need to think about conversions. The articles on your web site are
    not just for robots.
