I'm a complete SEO noob, so forgive my ignorance.

I know a "money-site" is mydomain. What is considered a NON-MONEY site? And how does sending traffic to that site/page boost traffic/link juice to mydomain?

I see all these promos for linkjuice to the non-money site, but I need help seeing how boosting that sites juice will boost my own.

Yeah the money site is your whole domain.

When you build backlinks to your money site those links are non money site url's.

It is a good idea to build links to these to make the link juice flow nicely to your site by giving everything more power. If your backlinks get more authority then so does your money site.

Any site/ blog/ article that you create for the purpose of a link to your main site (money site) is often referred to as a non money site. When people talk about sending links to non money sites, the intention is to make these sites more "powerful" sites in the eyes of search engines so that a link from them (to your main site) is considered more valuable.

My own personal opinion is that building links to anything other than the site you want to rank is a waste of time.

So if I have siteX that links to my money site, and I build 300 links to siteX, and it turns into a PR4 site, you think that's a waste of time?

I would have agreed with you on that, but the experts are saying this is not the case, that it don't work like that.

    thank you for the replies.

now i understand the non moneysite is a blog, article, etc not with your url. that leads me to ask... when you do linking pyramids to these non money sites, you are running a campaign with the keywords you want to rank, now are these not the same keywords your landing page may be targetig? are you not essentially competing a non money site url against your own money site landing page?

basically your money site is your main url -- non money sites are properties, or other pages you're getting link juice from.

Everyone only has finite resources. If you want to use those to build backlinks to anything other than the site you wish to be ranking for, then be my guest.

OP Here is Simple Answer for Your Question:

Money Site - A site where you can put some ads or affiliate links and want to earn money through this site.

Non Money Site - A site which is pointed to the your money site as a referrer (Backlinks), usually WEB 2.0 properties such as live journal, blogspot and wordpress etc.

Here is MY opinion and again it is an uninformed opinion. The only reason to backlink your non money site or a buffer site is to build backlinks with questionable resources.

Any legit backlink you would take correct? If CNN.com wanted to do an article about your site I am sure you would not mind a direct link. If Lil Wayne wanted to add you to his Blogroll and you got 500 links from his blog you would take it too right?

The real issue in the back link biz is that people are getting links anyway possible and from most any source possible. When and if google spots the pattern the page that is getting those questionable links can get demoted or worse, no one wants that for their main money site so they often hit the non money sites or a buffer site they created for the sole purpose of blasting links to it.

Again, I emphasize No One would turn away a good qualtiy high PR, High reputation backlinks directly to the money a page, only a fool would do that. Everythign else flows through buffers.

Look at it like political fundraising. A presedential candidate will take campaign funds directly from a reputable source, but if he is smart will not take it directly from shady sources otherwise it will affect his campaign.

On the other hand if the money from shady sources get funneled through alternate channels TO the reputable source and then the candidate it is harder to back track and find where the money came from.

Google is your opponent trying to find out your shady behavior, you are the candidate, your money site is your campaign, your main blog is your buffer or reputable campaign funds source, everything else is shady.

Some guys go 2 or 3 levels deep and buffer their buffer or post articles to other peoples pages and blast THOSE links so it does not affect their site directly if something goes wrong.
