I used the pinger once but cos I wasn't sure about whether the site wen in websites or sites to ping I tried it both ways round so that may have had something to do with it? Here is the message I got: I guess this could be a method to take down competitors if they were on free hosting...
Honestly I can not imagine very many people put a well ranked money site on free hosting. I suppose it could be me but I would never even consider it. Building your money site on crappy hosting (free or not) is like building a house on sand without a foundation. Might be cheaper at first but sooner or later it is going to come back and cost you.
+1, probably the best analogy I've ever seen on the topic. From the thread title I though "Oo, perhaps a sly little way to take down a competitor", but after reading that you're on free hosting, meh. Seriously though, go grab yourself some at least basic level hosting. It's like what, $6 a month at GoDaddy? They're not the greatest host, but it's definitely better in the long run then a free host.
Probably not many competitors out there with a site on free hosting, which could be taken down this way.
Ranko I have seen you post in numerous threads about how much you have done to promote your sites but can't get them to rank. If you are using free hosting I wouldn't expect those SERPS to rise anytime soon.
Would anybody be interested in taking out competitors? I've already taken out sites using dedicated servers and it costs me like $3.
easier method to take down competitors is to spam their sites. so that google can deindex them and social networks will take the adress to black lists. remember, domain is permament. hosting isn't permament. admin can daily switch between 10000x hosting sites or use a cloud hosting :- )
Oh, one method more doesn't matter if blogspot or a free host. write 1-3 emails to hosting admin (most of the host sites have even a "report abuse" function) and say, that this site is infected/has illegal content/etc. be creative ! in my experience, one host deleted my competitors site within 2 days, lol.
Ye this sounds like total unfounded horseSHIT to me. True it might not be a good idea for other reasons stated above but wtf does it have to do with ranking. BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT. Bull or horse, whichever you prefer.
Hey...never mind all part of the learning experience! How you supposed to learn if you don't make mistakes.
It is not a matter that it is free hosting it is a matter of "Quality Hosting" and yes it does matter. Slow load times and your site being down when the bots try to visit will make a difference in how Google ranks your site. Take a site that is on a crappy server with slow loading times that goes down on a regular basis and put it on a server that loads fast and never goes down and you will see the rankings improve. Yes the quality of your hosting does matter.
