Hey guys. Well first of all I love this forum so much knowledge to take in!!!!

My name is Jordon and I currently run my own business, we supply wholesale / industrial hose fasteners & hose. We are fairly busy and due to the nature of what we sell its easy to box & send out so I have a lot of spare time.

Now I could go about expanding my business by reaching out to potential customers etc etc but tbh I want to dabble in internet marketing!

I will be using different methods and just experimenting!.... Keep a close eye!!!!!

TOTAL (ALL METHODS)
MONEY IN = £0.00
MONEY OUT = £0.00
PROFIT = £0.00

Method 1 (ACTIVE): I will be offering companies webdesign & setup free of charge if they use Host gator as a host!! (I will get $50 every time I secure a client and get them to sign up).
The webdesign is piss easy:
- Word press
- Free theme
- Copy and paste current web content
- Change name-servers for domain.
- BANK!
/ I will be making extra money by offering Logo design, web articles, more advanced stuff... Basically anything I can purchase and double the money on for my "service" haha.
The whole process should take about 1 - 2 hours. (As time goes on I will be able to wiz through websites).

MONEY IN = £0.00
MONEY OUT = £0.00
PROFIT = £0.00

LOG

TIP OF THE DAY: If you are using a paid word press theme or even a free one and you would like to edit it roughly before you show your client. What I do is in Google chrome I inspect element and modify the text & picture url / logo etc to suit and then I print screen & edit further in photo shop (if need to) this gives the client a more personal feel instead of a pre-made template with lots of random crap words lmao.

The HostGator shpeel almost seems too simple. What sort of fine print do you have to abide by? It seems like it would be profitable for someone to make fake accounts and sign up for their own affiliate link...

Sounds like a really good setup you have here. But you really need to get AWAY from Hostgator's affiliate program. Web Hosting is one of the most competitive niches out there, so you'll find affiliate programs that pay a lot more than what you're getting there.

Personally I would recommend Fatcow. Firstly, it's the same company as Hostgator, so you don't have to worry about getting a different quality of service or support. Secondly, they pay $100 per affiliate signup.

They constantly have promotions too, where they sell 1-year hosting for something like $1, or maybe $10, etc, but you still get the $100. They lose money so that they can get your referrals business. I've even seen months where they up the referral amount, and they even pay $150 for dedicated plans.

iPage is another one, which is also the same company. Except you get $105 per affiliate signup. I suppose it would be better to go with that one.

It's not that simple. They base the affiliate signups off of unique users. So if they see the same address or credit card, you will not get paid. Your plan might work though if you have a bunch of credit cards in someone elses name though :)

Edit: Oh, and also they person signing up a new account can't be an existing customer. I could be mistaken, but I think they can't be in the system at all. Like say if they canceled their account a year ago, and then clicked through someone affiliate link and signed up. I might be wrong though.

Oh! And say if you had a friend or something, and you're signing them up with their CC. Don't do it from your computer! Or atleast use a proxy or something.

Thanks! I'm sure it will be an interesting ride haha!... The skills I learn and develop after time I will put towards the real money (my business) in regards to SEO, SMO etc etc.

Haha thats what I though! I was thinking about offering people $5 to sign up haha.

Ahh that's cool! I will have a look at Fatcow...

This is there rates:
[TH="class: product, bgcolor: #DDDDDD"]Product[/TH] [TH="class: commission table-amt, bgcolor: #DDDDDD, align: center"]Your FatCow Affiliate Program Commission (USD)[/TH]
Limited Time Only $9 "Cheap Sheep" Plan $25.00
Shared Hosting $100.00
VPS Hosting $100.00
Dedicated Hosting $150.00
So tbh not as good as hostgator as with the intital sign up for any plan is $50 compared to $25. Well anyways I will keep them in mind depending how hostgator goes!

This is interesting... You get a coupon when you sign up etc that you can use to track orders and that, anyways its worth either 25% OFF or $9.95 OFF, now the basic plan costs $7.00 a month I was thinking about paying them $5 straight up for just signing up haha.
