I tried out
Code:
http://www.directoryofezines.com/
Found an ezine there that had not to bad of a price on an ezine ad 50.00 not expensive at all . I used clickbank . I made sure it was targeted to biz - ops. The company I used was actually a company whos sales page has proven to convert at 10 percent .

What did i get??? Thousands of Hops and no sells. I just redirected to the system from my website . So soon as they landed on my website they where redirected. I know they went to the website from the hops in my clickbank account .

WTH is going on 3k hops and not a sell one? That is just insane .

So I used the same tactic with Pepperjam . Picked out a product sent out an ezine . Boom money hand over fist . I had about a 10 percent conversion rate off aproximately the same amount of hops .

I am still scartaching my head to figure this out as to why I had no sells through clickbank . This just makes no sense to me. 3k hops (which is a little messed up acording to the tracking on my website) hell i should have had at at the very least had 30 sells at the very pit bottom of the rung.

WOW lesson to self Screw Clickbank!

Have you made much money off ezine advertising in the past? What is their service like?

valwardon, I've run into this type of thing before myself. I don't think it says anything negative about CB, other than there's stiff competition promoting CB products and someone else has probably hit that ezine with the same product before, especially since it's so cheap to promote on.

By switching to a lesser pushed network or product, you found something most of the ezine subscribers probably never had shown to them before, so you made out.

Think about it, the next guy who comes along and spends $50 to promote that same PJ product to that same ezine will just be blowing his money now.

That's why whenever I find a good marketing source like an ezine that's cheap, I only use it for new affiliate products, or original products. The key to getting the most value is to be the first to offer something to that ezine. The second and third guys offering a product are only throwing their money away.

damn was kinda hoping you werent gonna tell everyone about this and just me.... what did i tell you

now there are going to be everyone on bhw promoting using this :( mehhhh

Huh never thought of that before . Thanks scb335 you sound like you have been in the game for a while .

Ezine apears to me as of right now to be the fastest way whitehat to get sells short of owning your own list.

I am going to try more things as well with ezine marketing . Heck with as cheap as it is you really can not go wrong . If you loose the amount you loose is so small that you really do not need to worry about it.

Any tips you have for ezine marketing ? The one I am using now in the directory that I like has about 350k subscribers so the response rate seems to be about 1 percent or so*my math may be off*.

Keep in mind that you can often negotiate lower rates than those published, and get them to agree to a smaller sample.

I believe a lot of people have this problem with Clickbank lately, a lot of hops and no sells. Last two months was really dry for me, but I do hope CB gets better because I love it. I've had 2 sales in last 4 day without promoting this stuff for about 2 months so I hope CB is finally recovering from this issues. Well, we will see in the next year, till then we should all look for alternatives.

Ezine advertising is nothing new. Furthermore, Fr4nk K3rn recently made a video about the DOE and ezine advertising for his Mass*Contro1*Monthly members, so there may already be a surge in advertising via this method. The problem is (and this is a good problem, depending on how you look at it) that most people who place ads in ezines don't have a clue about what they're doing (even those people who watched Frank's video because he didn't go into too much detail), so they lose money and assume that the method doesn't work. This is bad for your competition and good for you. And, since it does cost money, that eliminates a lot of potential competitors from getting into the game.

Any tips you have for ezine marketing ?

1. Stick with solo ads.

2. Subscribe to the ezines that you're thinking about running solos in to see if they're a good fit, how often the ads are sent out, what products are being promoted or have been promoted in the past. I recall one ezine that posted a list of all previous solo ads that were run so that I could see if the product had already been pushed.

3. Don't make it a blatant sales pitch. Write a good (but incomplete) article designed to get people to click over to your pre-sell page for more info.

4. Use a compelling subject line. Another reason for subscribing to the ezine(s) that you want to advertise in is so that you can make a note of which headlines catch your eye. You can get some tips and also see what has already been done so that you can stand out from the crowd.

I have a couple of videos about ezine advertising with more tips that I will try to post here later today (at work now, sorry).

Curious, but when you say that you tried the same thing using PJ, for you to get paid - did the person actually have to buy a product.. or was it a lead gen type thing? (email/zip submit, short form, etc)

I would love to see these videos but the links are from 3 years ago. Do you still have these videos? If so please post here.:D Thanks in advance if possible:D

I'm not sure if I still have them, but I'll take a look. I won't get to do it until several days from now, though, as I'm away from home and don't have access to the computer where the videos are (assuming that I still have them). I've made myself a note to look for them when I get back, so sit tight. :)

@dantelamaze: I looked around for those videos, and I don't have them anymore. Sorry. :(

Ok. But do you have some other good info about ezine advertising.. been searching this forum and there's not much to find regarding this...
Like for example a place where to find a list overview of reliable ezines?
