I have an exclusive email list that contains 1M+ names, emails, zips. It's a fully qualified list of individuals who have made purchases via CC and are generally 18-35 year old males who are very technology/gadget savvy. I personally did not accumulate the data on this list, so I am curious how best to monetize it. Thoughts???

Use it to launch a brand new ecommerce site. Instead of just spamming them with some discounts or offers, build up a new ecommerce and launch to them. People would kill to have a 1m list to launch to.

    How did you obtained it?
You should test out open rates and conversion, take cpa offer in your niche and send it to 1000 people and see open rate and conversions.

Make an ecommerce store selling gadgets, or affiliate with amzn. Sites like this used to be very popular for that

I am even glad by the fact that you have been able to categorize the mailing list that you have. You have for sure added great value to the list. You can now do a lot of things with the list. Look for people or companies that are selling devices related to technology, I am so sure that they will have to buy from the curiosity that they have.

This is a good idea :) An e-commerce site seems like a more sustainable business model to utilize with the list, especially given that I know the specific niche that would target well with my list.

My concern about sending out affiliate offers via email is that I didn't build this list myself, so I feel like I may have some trouble with some of the email marketing platforms. Thoughts?

Do you have any thoughts on what email marketing platform would be the best? I have some concerns about getting my list approved given that I did not build it myself.

You first have to clean the list... How old is it? I'm going through the same thing currently and did a lot of research on email marketing and have been quite successful with emailing only 20k.

If you just upload it to mailchimp or any other provider, you're surely to be banned. I would suggest hiring a 3rd party company or finding a software to clean them to ensure delivery. Be careful not to user your own IP when doing so.

500K are from the year 2015-2016. 500K are from 2010-2014.

I would imagine a high % of the emails are active since they were used in conjunction with a credit card purchase. But I would definitely love suggestions on the best way to clean the list.

You can spend a few bucks through 3rd party companies.... And don't assume the emails are active. Just remember to test test test before blasting an email to a huge number.

You also need to consider how you're going to send the emails.. If you're just blasting them with ads then you're likely to have a high abuse rate which will get you banned whether they bounce or not. Test with 1k at a time and keep making tweaks.

Do not answer how you obtained it. I think we all have a fairly good idea of how it was done, but it is best that you never make it public.

There are a couple of method that sound promising.

    1. direct the users to a signup page where they can sign up with you specifically. This will cut the list down, but it will be much more flexible.
    2. buy an smtp server and then send emails from that using your domain.
    3. starting your own ecomm is risky as hell if you didnt create that list.
