As the title says Review copies needs to be stopped on BHW. What is the Point asking for review copies when mods first test the service then approve the thread. If seller is providing then it's ok.

Whenever a new thread goes into services section, first page is full of review copies only.

I too used to ask for review copies, Later i realised the mistake and now i have stopped asking it. and It's very difficult to the seller to perform services for free.

    What you say.

Well a lot of services now give discounted review copied such as 50% off. This then allows the seller to not totally lose out and also give their thread some momentum to get off the starting blocks. It also helps people judge the service for prospective customers if there are many people with positive feedback.

It also doesn't leave all the responsibility to the mods to identify whether a service is beneficial (in terms of seo services).

I do agree that they should be more carefully selected but are still very useful for selling a service.

In every thread approval post, wiz also mentioning it. We use to ban few , who are asking review copies. Still It does nt change...

No issues in asking review copies, if seller mentioning it...

The more activity a sales thread has the more sales there are. The better reviews, the better the sales. It is worth it for sellers to give a few away for free and if a seller doesn't want to they are not obligated.

Well I've had a guy ask for a review copy after 2+ months of service being live, it's nothing that can be done about more, there is a rule already stating that you cannot ask for review copies, the OP will give if he wants to give, and Wiz mentions it in every of his approval post. Mods are working hard to try to solve this asap, but don't forget there are a lot of other things they have to do....

At the end of the day, it's up to the provider to give or sell reduced price reviews. I agree that it is and should be 100% frowned upon to ever ask for a review copy. If they are offered, I have sometimes taken advantage of them - if they aren't and I'm interested in the service (or they're all sold out), then I'll buy it at full price. End of story.

I agree that asking review copies should stop.
But If There's no reviews buyer won't trust the seller.See From a Buyers View.
Its ok if the seller wants to give....
Or they should give 50% replacing review copies.
As we all know only interested only will come forward to buy.
Either way both the seller and buyer would end dissatisfied....
    What do you say guys..............

My advice would be to post a quick explanation in your thread stating your position on offering (or not) review copies. Hit the report button on any member that ignores you and asks anyway. We'll take care of the problem, but you gotta state it up front or asap when the thread is approved. Might be a good idea to let the staff member that reviewed/approved your thread know so he can warn people as well since we post directly under you.

What they should do is stop is all the "free" services that people offer here daily - free twitter accounts, free wiki links, free profile links, free blog comments, free youtube accounts, you name it....

All of these offered here daily while you have BHW members with legit sales threads, offering pretty much the same services and products, it just doesn't make sense to me at all.

I am not selling anything on BHW, but for some reason this pissed me off big time

That's something the staff is discussing, along with the JV forum etc.

    We're aware of it. :)

Isn't that what this forum is for? Make it a requirement to start off in that section with reviews created ready to be posted, then you won't see as much spam in BST.

BST is one of the best assets of the site, its quality should be improved and preserved. We don't want to become like the shitty place DP, right?

I agree, asking for a review copy should be stopped

If the seller wants to get the thread more reviewed and for better sales, then it is worth for sellers to give away few review copy.
