Real simple. I need a little help promoting. The potential is sick. I host mixtapes for $75 a pop, I'm willing to give out a % of that to someone who can do some great legit eblasts, xrumor blasts, etc.. Ideas welcome to completely obliterate my competition, I'm will to do it with a promo code, or with an affiliate link sale, giving you a % of the profit. Neg. %. I see big potential because people pay me to spread their music up in Canada. Specifically upcoming rap artists. My blog is Music Money Mixtapes. I want it to rule all Mixtape blogs. I love BHW and know some of you are far more talented at this stuff than I am, I am busy mixing music so please let me know if you have some cheap ideas let me know. I need double opt. in music lists. I want a trial run if you've got one. Let's talk pls. Ideas?

You havent really said what you're looking for here... promoting your blog? Selling slots on your blog?

Please dont take this the wrong way, but as a fellow dj and producer with tracks on the big 3, mixtapes are a waste of time as a means of promotion. The only people that listen to a crap rappers mixtape are his friends and people that stumble along their myspace or a blog for 30 seconds, you're taking someone else's music (copyrighted, not that that really matters i guess) and putting spoken words on top of it. Throw all your efforts into production, find the kids that actually have potential and work with them and guide them to make original material and instrumentals. It pays off, trust me :)

And i step off the soap box.

I have a record pool of 12,000 verified working dj's but they would have zero interest in mixtape material :/

All good, just looking for help to boost views/plays/etc. Most of the artists I deal with submit me original material. I agree that allot of artists don't, in which case yeah, the only one listening is their friends and hopefully they have allot of friends. But, I have allot of artists that are smashing it in their state and doing well, just looking to up their promo game. I'm looking for ways to increase the blogs relevance so that they get more exposure, so real traffic / backlinks / autoblog blasts. Myspace blasts. I got twitter on lock, so I'm good with that unless there is a mass Direct Message tool out there other that Caltweet. One thing your Djs might be interest in is cross promotion, putting their show on my station. I don't agree that mixtapes are a waste of time at all, because the people I know sell em' or give them away on the street. I like to think my mixtapes are a change in the right direction. I'm on That Crack take a listen... oh and btw mixtape hosting is payin the bills so i'm lookin to expand on it and sub out slots on the station via affiliate plans or direct referrals. So all the artists you turn away come to me for hosting I'm give you $25 neg. per sale to artist. simple plan. what matters is you everyone gets paid and the artist gets the promo they want.

All I listen to are mixtapes, been that way for years, why waste money on an album if only 2 songs are worth my time... I would just stay on ur grind. The time it takes to post here ya couldda got some backlinks instead. Mixtape DJ's make the music scene with out the 4 elements we would be lost. Real Hip Hop, do ya thang hommie

Ya also might wanna make some vidz of ur people playin and rhymin. It doesn't have to be crazy expensive, just a cheap camera and some time. Those videos get alot of play. Atleast you'll get some exposure and good backlinks for the pages you upload to. Well at least thats what some of my people did a couple years ago. Sittin in the booth, drivin around, it dont matter... its real and its exposure... good luck main

Myspace promo is actually easier than it used to be, since for the most part they got rid of their CAPTCHAS if you have a phone to verify it. It's more of a problem to find actual active users that still check their requests. :p

We were discussing the right way to blackhat this, learn to read. ie. boosting views on youtube, backlink strategies, myspace techniques, whatever. Move it to the right category then. I found some friends and said thanks for their ideas. You can go jump off a bridge.

I think that's a great idea, there's allot of really good music that doesn't get the exposure it deserves. Any ideas, are good ideas. Right now, I'm working on attempting a viral collaboration, basically getting all the rappers I know to rap on the same beat with the same hook just different verses called bankrupt business. It's seems to be catching on. I think the key for getting lots of followers on twitter comes down to persistence, and automation. you still need to play an active role in the life of your followers to be effective, and yes I'm making money doing what I do, but like all blackhatters? want to make it bigger cooler and make more money.:) thanks for being so supportive.

Does friendblaster work now with the recent changes to myspace?

ranking your blog ain't gonna give you talent or make people like your wack azz mixtapes.

Anyone that listens to rap and hiphop knows who the hot dj's are.

You're charging people to host their tape and you don't even have a name for yourself. That's your first mistake.

maybe a blackhat world of warcraft forum is needed also, as idiots like to post stupid WoW crap here too.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about, I promote only unsigned artists and I am the only mixtape dj in Canada that is doing it for the sake of the artist. You obviously don't know anything about hosting, or have been ripped off in the past, I feel badly for you in either case because no one is going to help you out with an attitude and negative as yours. If you are subscribed to That Crack mixtapes you would have heard my work, and seen my promotions. I'm just here to learn from the people who know what they are talking about at like BHW, unlike yourself. 'nough said. I am glad that you commented tho. i have thanked you.:)
