not officially, the google seach console is clean. But yeah, some content is good, but some is a little spammy. Old AI edited content.
Ouch, you mean starting from the same domain and doing it all with a fresh wordpress installation? new articles and all?
No, not the same domain.
Register a new domain, or acquire an aged domain relevant to the same field, and start producing similar content.

Nha i don't intend to do that, I have other websites, but this was one of the first ones, and I do not want to have wasted so much time on it.
I feel like the little traffic, backlinks and age thsi blog have should be worth something, no? Why is it not easier to restore a once "good" site compared to create a new one?

Bro, been there too many times lol. It can be really tough to re-rank an older site if it's traffic has been on the slide.

Trying to restore a blog is really hard as i am trying to do this myself for one of my blogs that was getting good traffic months ago.
One thing that i noticed working in my experience, is going back to your old posts, editing small pieces of content like adding 1 small paragraph and adding 2-3 more internal links to the post.

Work on SILO, interlinking, and content updates.
Then gradually build some backlinks as well.
Your site is most probably sandboxed and if you leave it, you're telling Google that their decision was correct.
As long as you work genuinely without anything spammy, it will recover

You can restore or regrow the traffic but how long it'll take is what I can't tell you.
Creating new better content and if possible rewrite and update some of the older ones. Then backlinks to both the homepage and the new content being added to the site. Since your site wasn't manually penalized you should be able to rank for new keywords if done right.

Was it hit during an update? I can't really tell.
A blog I have just got resurrected spontaneously in the August update, so if I were you, I'd focus my efforts somewhere else and wait to see if Google decide to un-f*ck the SERP sometime soon.

Up to a certain degree yes but 100% to its former glory isn't possible IMO.

Proper niche/keyword research followed by optimized SEO & content plan is what will help you.
Analyze the serps and see what pages have replaced yours, a full audit of competing pages their content structure and backlink profile will also help.
Revamp your website and it will climb again.

i'm also suggesting a new domain in the same way. if you want to reward yourself by revitalizing an inactive website, listen to your heart. if i were you, i would work to revive it unless it's a commercial website. however, if the goal is to regain traffic, the most efficient way to start is by getting a new domain. don't worry, it will be easier and faster than you think.
