Hi, I'm wondering what is (in your opinion) the minimum amount of followers an Instagram page needs to have to be able to sell physical products through it. I'm thinking of creating a business but do not know if Instagram will get me much sales. Also does anyone have any of their own experiences with this that they would like to share? Thanks
Way too many factors that would be needed to be taken into consideration to give you an answer. Depends on the product, price, size of the market, your demographic. Having said that, there is no harm in testing the waters and building your page.
Well a huge page (200K+) will always get more sales since they are seen as more legitimate. If i was a 19 year old girl i guess the "legitness" point would be after 10K
I gave it some more thought and carried out some complex calculations and actually came up with a figure for you ... the answer is 1 Get your product in front of the right person at the right time, at the right price and you can make a sale.
No I've never used Pinterest before, apart from creating an account. I wouldn't know how to grow on it. Can you follow/unfollow people on there?
Yeah but I am not an expert on Pinterest (or IG for that matter) but people were having success with that demographic there. I would imagine you should have enough followers now if your posts have been targeted to your niche. No harm in slowly starting to promote but maybe one of the IG experts will come in with better advice.
Not an IG or Pinterest expert, but driving nice traffic from those sources and making sales directly on Pinterest as well with some really nice results. You can grow a Pinterest account pretty easily, just pin photos from popular sites and check the followers of your competitors. They already follow someone in your niche and if you follow them there's a good chance you'll be getting a new follower as well. Just be careful not to over do it, 60-70 follows per day for the followers of your competitors is what I've been using. Vary it a little to make it seem like an authentic user (I've automated it so that's why I need to keep the authenticity in mind). Then don't pin your promos/sales content more than once per 4-6 regular pins to keep it from looking too spammy. Hope you've verified your Pinterest account already?
