Might be going to the USA via a student exchange program

Hey guys,

Lol today some guys came to our classroom while we were on a class and told us there was this student exchange program that we could try, gave us a bunch of details and stuff...

If I am one of the few chosen ones I'm supposed to stay in the US for like a year, it's always been my dream moving in there and I'm working on it. Even though there might be a lot of applicants from everywhere across the country, nobody will probably have the skills and knowledge I do about the country itself, language... Its an opportunity to meet the people i'm working with in person, meet a few old friends, have fun, experience it and do a shitload of stuff I was limited to doing just because i wasn't living in the US

I just hope they don't check my primary school marks though i wasnt so bad!

I already got permission from my parents and will apply! I'll be calling them tonight for more details, I don't care if i get declined lol Im gonna end up in there anyways, sooner or later. Btw i'm 14 and on my way to the $xxxx/day club and even more now.

Also, if i get accepted i just hope they send me to some of the cooler places but anywhere would be fine as long as it's the US (well not actually everywhere!)

Im not sure about collage students mate, im in high school but im sure there are a lot more exchanges available to collage students anyways. My country's in europe, macedonia. You should check your local US embassy for this. The program im applying for is called YES! I think (youth exchange and study) and is funded by the US government. Here's a pdf i found on their official site and was available on their fb page you might wanna read it to see what its like:

Im actually trying to move out of here lol Theres so many countries to choose from, so many different languages to learn if you really wanna move...

Some eastern european countries especially the balkans can be really cheap to live in and the western ones are more expensive! Give it a visit first, check the countries and places out and move dude

Ok so here's an update...

this morning I went to my school where the first round was held. IT was held in my school probably because the US embassy is right next to it. Anyways, I came in there and saw people from all over the country lol I knew there's gonna be some serious competition but I don't give a **** lol !! There were like 10 americans atleast and everything was well organized though... I entered this classroom that I've been to like atleast 10 times because that's where I study at !... with like 30 other kids and we were all given basic English tests. There shouldn't be a problem and I'm just waiting for the results tonight At 9 pm they should be on their website I hope I'll be moving onto round 2. If I am I gotta write an essay or something, talk to those people and do stuff for like 3 hours. Once I'm done if I'm chosen to move onto round 3 they'll call me in like a month... After that things are gonna be reviewed in DC and the ones that are going, notified in april 2010 for the 2010 academic year...

GOOOOOOOD LUCK to me!!!

Oh and yeah, there was like 300 people that applied today in my city (capital) and only 15 will go to the US for a year, everythings free! I'll beat everyone in here haha but I honestly thing I got a chance...

Wow nice, everything is free? must be nice haha. School costs so much here well at least college does. Keep us updated on the progress, that will be so cool if you do get to come. When will you know where at in the US you will be going?
