Hello. I have a lot of lurking to do but I ran into multiple encouragements to go ahead and sign up, introduce myself. So I'll let that be the first piece of advice that I follow and rip the band-aid off now.

I'm so new I don't even understand acronyms being used like PBN, VA. Even the stickied "for noobs" threads seem full of stuff I don't really follow. But at least people here seem to know what they're talking about, unlike every time in the past I looked into making money online where I just ran into pages wanting to sell me an ebook teaching me how to make a website where I sell an ebook teaching people how to make a website selling ebooks about how to make a website selling ebooks...

Anyway, I've got a lot of reading to do before I do any more posting. Hopefully it will all become less confusing and intimidating soon.

Welcome to the forum! The search function will become your best friend. If that doesn't have the answer then THIS website usually does (for me at least).

I stated the same way, for all the terms when you come accross one you don't know just google: "PBN SEO meaning". I actually had a notebook that I wrote all the acronyms down so I could study and remember them. Also another tip is, when searching in the forum do not use the search feature, it's garbage. Instead go to google and search: "make money site:blackhatworld.com" or whatever term you're looking for and it will be MUCH better.

You going to be double clicking a word, right click, then "search on google for this word" a lot. You'll pick up the lingo fast don't worry, welcome to the forums.

Hello ToastFace and Welcome to BHW!

These threads should help you find the meaning for the acronyms used here.

At least you got a username which can be called as TFK instead of WTF!

I understand how tough it is to buy an ebook which tells about building a website that makes money online by selling an ebook.

Enjoy your stay with CPA, PPC, EMD and PBN's but not over optimized KW!

Don't worry when you got SpoonFeeder here.

Have a look at this section and see which method tempts you to try and give it a try. Don't quit when you fail at first. Keep hustling until you make your first dollar online. Thereafter, it's only the matter of scaling up what you already know and invest on other methods to make even more.

The Making Money Section is the first place I looked but I still felt lost reading a few methods.

I've been thinking about going with ebooks on Kindle or something similar as a first thing to try. It's probably slower and more effort-intensive than some other options. But it appeals to me because I'm naturally gifted with good writing skills, it doesn't require much or any startup capital (of which I have little/none), and there's not a lot of technical information involved that might as well be Japanese at this point.

A couple methods promising $20 or $50 a day using Instagram looked promising at first and comparatively simple but most of the steps described still seemed way over my head upon reading them.

If anyone has a suggestion on a good first thing for someone who doesn't know what they're doing at all yet, it would certainly be welcome. I'd like to eventually be generating enough passive income to live on while inputting minimal effort to maintain it. But I don't mind putting in the effort required to get to that point, I'm not expecting some secret to get rich tomorrow without trying. Also I have a very minimalist lifestyle (currently getting by on under <$500/month) so the bar for being able to live on the income is very low.

It would also be nice if some of these guides involved real examples of successes (like niches used etc) to learn from but I understand why people would be reluctant to post such things on a public forum and invite a bunch of competition.
