ok guys, take a look at what i received in the email today:

if i am not mistaken, this is the same kind of scam that was first started by some guy (he claimed you have to send out $1 to 5 people. then other people will send $1 back to you. what was his name?!)

ok anyway, anyone else got this? i was wondering, what is the point of such an email? how does the sender profit from this??

one thing i suppose would be email harvesting. but i am sure there is a bigger purpose to it? if yes, what?

maybe an email worm (infect the computer only when reading the email) and create a botnet, that is what i think :)

The first time I seen this scam was around 2002... my wife send me the tell me we are getting money!.... the email she sent me had about 400 email address in it.... so I'm now sending them email to my whitehat site....

The benefit from sending this scam is the hype it causes. Their email becoming viral is looked at as an accomplishment to them. Think about it. The first guy that pulled this crap had his email floating around for at least a year. 100,000's of people fell for it and he got joy from it. Silly, but each to their own.

ahh...screw it...that means i have to scan my lappy today?

not much you can do if its FUD (fully undetected) its doesn't matter how many times you scan it, if your infected you cant do much ;) unless the AV ur using has a update for it.

It's funny when they say 'this is not fake', just like the kid with piss running down his leg, and as he gets up from the bed he says 'I DID NOT PISS THIS BED'
