It's different from the last time - they're just talking about buying the search engine business. But I really hope that some viable competition to Google comes up in the search engine business... It would make black hat so much more interesting

If I was Yahoo... I would sell search engine and with that kind of money quickly build and advertise new one

Well less competition would mean less algorithms to analyze... In the end it doesn't matter eventually some new college student will probably come out with some radical new idea that's better than ever before. With the increase of people in our field I give it a couple of years. I myself have been working on a few search concepts so we'll see where that goes... Anyways MS & Yahoo suck compared to Google I think. The results are just not up to par for me. Though I'm sure there's some yahoo or MS fan who would disagree with my opinion.

In a few years even microshit won't be able to fuck with google. They have plans to replace the OS with A BROWSER. Dont ask me how but if they say they will do it then they probably will. As far as yahoo is concerned; if they don't make the deal this time then expect the board to be ousted. Not taking MS's money isn't in the best interest of the stockholders.
